Ninth Circuit Rules Abortion More Important than Women’s Lives
National Review ^ | 5/22/13 | Mailee R. Smith

This week the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals this week struck down Arizona’s law prohibiting abortion at or after 20 weeks of pregnancy – a law that was based on uncontroverted medical evidence that abortion’s risks to maternal health increase dramatically at 20 weeks gestation.

It is universally accepted that risks to maternal health from abortion increase as pregnancy progresses. There is no debate on that fact, and peer-reviewed evidence utilized by the Arizona Legislature demonstrated that abortion imposes significant risks of harm beginning at 20 weeks gestation.

In fact, in his concurring opinion in this case, Isaacson v. Horne, Judge Andrew J. Kleinfeld noted that the risks are indeed considerably greater after 20 weeks, and that the state presented substantial medical evidence to support its legislative findings.

In other words, a woman seeking an abortion at 20 weeks is 35 times more likely to die from abortion than she was in the first trimester. At 21 weeks or more — still before the child becomes viable — she is 91 times more likely to die from abortion than she was in the first trimester

Forced celebration of sodomy. Murdered babies, sacrificed on the altar of convenience. Personal property seized, given to those who do not work.

America is committing suicide.

We need a spiritual Awakening. Pray.

One of the first things President Palin must do is eliminate the 9th Cicus court.

With nuclear weapons, if necessary

It is really amusing that states can flaunt Federal drug laws by defacto legalizing marijuana, Federal immigration laws by creating “sanctuary” cities and preventing sworn police officers from enforcing the law, and legalizing gay “marriage” despite the Federal Defense of Marriage act. However if pro-life legislation is enacted by a state, somehow the law is quickly ruled void. Decadence in the Age of Obama.

We don’t. Most people like it the way it is—or want it to be still worse. I’m amazed Kermit Gosnell hasn’t been made Surgeon General.

I respectfully disagree.

She's being murdered by terrorists cloaked in black robes.

All Sarah needs to do is relocate the 9th Circuit to Fairbanks.

It's only fair!

There is a 100% certainty of death for the unborn child with murders, aka abortion, beginning at any point after inception.

If ignorance of the Constitution wasn’t so prevalent by the time that Roe v. Wade was decided, then activist justices probably wouldn’t have gotten away with ignoring 10th Amendment protected state power to regulate abortion since the states have never amended the Constitution to make abortion an express constitutional right.

Also note that since parents are not making sure that their children are being taught the difference between legislative, executive and judicial powers, citizens don’t understand that pagan judges are essentially legislating the so-called right to an abortion from the bench.

It’s just the courts affirming a woman’s right to die.

The Constitution gives the Congress the right and/or duty to administer all federal court districts, save the Supreme Court.

Sure would be nice to see the Ninth fixed.

Of course there is this...

“The comparative safety of legal induced abortion and childbirth in the United States.

Raymond EG, Grimes DA.

Gynuity Health Projects, New York, New York, USA. eraymond@gynuity.org

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:

To assess the safety of abortion compared with childbirth.

METHODS:

We estimated mortality rates associated with live births and legal induced abortions in the United States in 1998-2005. We used data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Pregnancy Mortality Surveillance System, birth certificates, and Guttmacher Institute surveys. In addition, we searched for population-based data comparing the morbidity of abortion and childbirth.

RESULTS:

The pregnancy-associated mortality rate among women who delivered live neonates was 8.8 deaths per 100,000 live births. The mortality rate related to induced abortion was 0.6 deaths per 100,000 abortions. In the one recent comparative study of pregnancy morbidity in the United States, pregnancy-related complications were more common with childbirth than with abortion.

CONCLUSION:

Legal induced abortion is markedly safer than childbirth. The risk of death associated with childbirth is approximately 14 times higher than that with abortion. Similarly, the overall morbidity associated with childbirth exceeds that with abortion.

There are a lot of District Courts, Tax Courts, etc.

I used to hope, back in more romantic times, that when I got a jury duty notice it would be for the Federal Courthouse, Los Angeles. Never did though, and these days, I’d just as soon skip it.
