I would have fired a whole bunch of folks starting with the CoS.

At this point, Obama can't afford to fire anyone. That would mean replacing them with outsiders, which would expose Obama's secrets to a person who might not be controllable.

You’re probably correct. He was actually quite resigned just before the election and seemed genuine surprised by his victory (or, should I say, successful theft of the election).
