Obama: The USA isn't at War with IslamThat might be technically correct though Islam is certainly at war with the USA.What if we had treated German and Japanese malefactors as criminals that needed to be captured and brought in front of a judge in New york in, oh say, 1943?

Unlike NJ, Okies can think and do for themselves. I would love for no one to show up to his photo op.

Does anyone notice that with this President, the debate or discussion, no matter how it is framed, is always about "me"--even if he uses the words, "best for the country"?

Where is the eloquence of a Washington, an Adams, a Jefferson, or even of a Reagan?

The very nature of the "miracle at Philadelphia" was one of passionate defense of liberty for future generations, selflessness in the face of danger to the personal life and property of the participants, and of a greater interest in the lives and liberties of countrymen than in the careers of themselves.

Oh that Divine Providence would send such leaders for this critical moment in America's history!

Perhaps the President and all elected leaders in Washington today might consider Jefferson's description of how he and his contemporaries in the early days approached matters of interest for the new nation:

Thomas Jefferson:

"Sitting near me on some occasion of a trifling but wordy debate, he asked how I could sit in silence hearing so much false reasoning which a word should refute? I observed to him that to refute indeed was easy, but to silence impossible. That in measures brought forward by myself, I took the laboring oar, as was incumbent on me; but that in general I was willing to listen. If every sound argument or objection was used by some one or other of the numerous debaters, it was enough: if not, I thought it sufficient to suggest the omission, without going into a repetition of what had been already said by others. That this was a waste and abuse of the time and patience of the house which could not be justified. And I believe that if the members of deliberative bodies were to observe this course generally, they would do in a day what takes them a week, and it is really more questionable, than may at first be thought, whether Bonaparte's dumb legislature which said nothing and did much, may not be preferable to one which talks much and does nothing. I served with General Washington in the legislature of Virginia before the revolution, and, during it, with Dr. Franklin in Congress. I never heard either of them speak ten minutes at a time, nor to any but the main point which was to decide the question. They laid their shoulders to the great points, knowing that the little ones would follow of themselves. If the present Congress errs in too much talking, how can it be otherwise in a body to which the people send 150. lawyers, whose trade it is to question everything, yield nothing, & talk by the hour? That 150 lawyers should do business together ought not to be expected."

For over four years now, American citizens have been subjected to almost daily lawyerly Presidential lecturing, "explaining," semantic maneuvering, and propaganda intended to convince them that the great and essential principles of liberty underlying their Constitution's strict limits on the size, scope and powers of their government are outdated and should be ignored in favor of trust in government officials who, by their own admission, "know" nothing about anything and are accountable to no one but themselves.

Enough talk, already!

The below is what Obama signed about using drones yesterday or the day before. I'm looking for a copy of that “newly-codified rule book”. That would also be where he gave a new order not to kill terrorists unless involved in the actual act of terrorism:

“But a newly-codified rule book, administration officials said, would hold U.S. authorities to a tougher standard when deciding whom to kill, where, and under what circumstances.”

"Only way to avoid him are the shopping and food channels"

Food channels don't show how to cook a dog.

When will the nightmare end. Long after he leaves office.

Just found it’s called “newly codified Rule book”. I’m looking for it.

I started to watch and had to fight boredom. Couldn't believe he went on so long and as far as I could tell, some of the things he said in the end contradicted statements he made in the beginning. The man seems to have a bunch of amatures writing separate paragraphs for him and then they put them all together in one speech not realizing how much nonsense it is when it is all combined. Bunch of trite phrases; attempts at insincere flag waving, and stupid, illogical, false and unverifyable statements (...dangers greater than Al Qaeda); along with his typical back patting.

All in all, a desperate attempt to give the media something different to write about and try and soothe the savage scandal-beast while making the low-information voters think they can keep trusting and adoring him. However, it did provide more insight into just how conflicted his policies are and the huge gap between his idealism and the reality of today.

Bingo. Drone strikes are totally out of character for 0bama. This is how you know there’s an alterior motive for doing them; PRACTICE FOR HERE. Anyone who doesn’t believe this, must also deny that the DHS is buying BILLIONS OF HOLLOW POINT BULLETS NOT USED FOR TRAINING PURPOSES.

"Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs. Our focus must be on those who break the law. That’s why I have called on Congress to pass a media shield law to guard against government overreach." –President Obama

Mr. President, do you not understand that the First Amendment to the People's Constitution is the supreme law of the land which "shields" the press, excludes it from your purview, and was the Founders' intended way to prevent people like you and your fellow "progressives" from assaulting the Creator-endowed rights of "We, the People"?

No further law is needed. Just respect that Constitution which, according to all who love liberty, and when its principles are respected, will protect and "shield" the freedom of the press and all the other areas excluded from intrusion by government officials.
