The article said the assault had happened a few weeks prior. Can someone purchase a gun anymore in a couple of weeks?
But I’m sure there’s plenty of cops ticketing motorists for minor traffic violations....
(Do I really need a sarc?)
You need to tell her to count her rounds as shooting. She should save one round for the absolute necessity of in the head for the scumbag.
Where were the six deputies on the force? Were all of them seriously involved fighting *real* crimes-—theft, rape, murder at the time?
Even in Canada you can same day as long as it’s unrestricted, so a shotgun would be a good way to go.
Well, when seconds count, the police may not ever show up
Oh maaaaaan, that is awesome awesome awesome! One of the best vids I seen all year! That is getting forwarded BIG time. And just think: In reality, 2nd amendment unconstitutional infringement is WORSE than that. The citizen has access to NO gun whatsoever.
All she had to say was “I just shot and killed my boyfriend” and the cops would’ve been there in seconds flat!
The dirty little secret is they have raided the police and school funding to pay for the Oregon Health plan.
Pray for America to Wake Up
And I agree....!!
I’m sure she could have gotten immediate police response if she’d said he was making “homophobic” remarks.
Using a couple brain cells in picking better caliper boyfriends would eliminate the vast majority of these calls.
And a lesson here is never count on federal subsidies being continued. If you really need something figure out a way to fund it from within your local tax base. Don't expand just because the Feds give you "free money" if you can't pay for it later.
Government, local or federal always cut the departmts the people need, fire, police, etc. they delibertly endanger and inconvience the populace for mre money to grow the government. elected officals in that county need to be removed from office.
“Her call was forwarded to Oregon State Police because of lay-offs at the Josephine County Sheriffs Office only allows the department to be open Monday through Friday. “
When seconds count, cops are only the next Business Day away.
” if he comes inside the residence and
assaults you, can you ask him to go
There you go - that will get it done.
Wish I’d thought of that.”
If you’re falling off a cliff, you may as well flap your arms. You’ve got nothing to loose by trying.
When seconds count, the police are just days away...
just shut up and pay your taxes, serfs.
This is Orgon, of course, but how do budget cuts drive an ex boyfriend to have to break in ~ aren’t there keys enough?
In this case, they knew the identity of the attacker. (her ex-boyfriend), so even if he managed to get away, he was still on the hook for the crime. Being her ex, he may not have been a professional criminal.
The loss of funds is the result of environmentalists shutting down logging. After that, these counties got replacement subsedies from the Feds. Those subsedies ended. But the environmentalists were the original cause.
Are they going to prosecute the woman for making making an illegal call to 911?
Thank you for calling 911. Your call is very important to us. Please stay on the line until the next available officer is availabe to assist you.
Your estimated wait time is...
In your hour of need, Mr. Glock is Always There.
Yeah, we’re a very conservative county.
We just voted down the levy, so they’ll be closing even more jail beds. What I don’t understand is why Sheriff Gil doesn’t set up tents like Sheriff Joe does, or give the convicts ankle bracelets with home arrest.
Nope, Gil is a great sheriff. You’re right about the public worker’s unions, though. That, and PERS, are draining us dry.
Yeah, private sales are legal in Oregon. Just find an ad in The Courier, call the guy, buy the weapon, you’re good to go. No registration required, though the legislature’s trying to stop that.
Some people photocopy the ID, as it’s not legal to sell to a non-Oregonian and you want proof you checked.
The “subsidy” was in lieu of logging. JoCo used to have vast tracts of land owned by the O&C Railroad, which went bankrupt and the land reverted to the government.
The logging rights were sold throughout the years and JoCo used the tax monies to fund local government. When the accursed environmentalists sued and shut down all the logging the fed gov started giving us federal subsidies in lieu of allowing us to log said O&C lands.
We deserve that money...it’s not a gift, it’s a replacement for the logging taxes we used to collect.
Get used to this kind of news story, kiddies!
Short tax revenues from a jobless economy, combined with generous (police) union raises and retirements inevitably means fewer cops on the street. Think it through but take a longer view, like 10 to 20 years. Firefighters too.
I can see the day coming when a town of 20,000 will have two cops per shift.
You are ultimately responsible for your own defense. Exercise that right!
It takes about 15 minutes in Oregon, depending on how crowded the gun store is. That includes the time to run the credit card.
It’s also being aired now because the Oregon legislature is in the middle of debating the budget for the next 2-year period.
if you have enough time to make a call and have a detailed conversation, you have enough time to layout some basic traps
at a minimum, barricade yourself in your room by putting the mattress against the door. very difficult to get thru. bring a knife, and strike while he’s trying to breach
"Deserved" is too strong a word for it, but she certainly contributed to it happening because she refused, even in light of his history to arm herself and take responsibility for her own life.
"She shoulda just laid
back and enjoyed it!"
we have cans of that all over the house for my mother, as well as handguns.
Appreciate your clarification on this issue’s background; it sounds like in this case continuation was warranted.
Hence, the cuts in Federal funding.
I would ask him, but it would be with something that goes bang and fire comes out the end.
#4 buckshot (not #4 shot) is probably better for home defense. Actually better odds of hitting vital organs.
Google Brittany Zimmerman......almost an hour from her 911 call.
They forgot to tell her to use the Ultimate Weapon - taunt him a second time.
“Hello? Someone is shooting at your Islamic police officer because he just came out gay”
F-22’s might actually scramble over the above.
Unfortunately she wasn't armed and trained. I'm glad her piece of crap ex is in jail, but unfortunately it is after the fact. I also have to wonder how bad Josephine County is when the cops can't respond to an home invasion in progress. She was on the phone for 10 minutes, and obviously the assault took some time.
Not good at all.
That sheriff needs a primary.
He is a GREAT sheriff...one of the best we’ve ever had.
I don't need no steen kin' gun to protect me!
The gummint will!!
