A young Michelle Obama once dated the inspector general who recently uncovered the IRS scandal, according to a bombshell report.
The future First Lady, then known as Michelle Robinson, reportedly dated J. Russell George, the current IRS top watchdog responsible for investigating the widening trouble at the tax agency, while the two were at Harvard Law School in the 1980s, the National Journal reported.
First lady Michelle Obama and George were both in the Black Law Students Association at Harvard Law School. The power pair were both members of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and graduated together in 1988, and at the very least, shared a few slices of pizza together.
“I think (George) actually dated Michelle at one point,” former Rep. Tom Davis, a Virginia Republican who worked with George on a House oversight subcommittee years ago, told the National Journal.
George, for his part, said he crossed paths with young beauty, but that calling it dating may be, “overstating it.”
“Michelle was a lovely person and down to earth,” George said. “The BLSA went out for pizza. … We would go out together.”
George, after a series of high-profile stints with former Republican Sen. Bob Dole and President George H.W. Bush, eventually became the inspector general to the Treasury Department, a role that makes him a watchdog over the IRS.
And it was George’s audit of the IRS that revealed that a number of offices at the tax agency had singled out conservative groups for additional scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status.
Michelle, of course, met her future husband, President Obama, a few years later when they were working at the same law firm in Chicago. They married in 1992

I am not surprised to hear this. The mere fact that he kept everyone but Congress appraised of his progress during the audit was especially troubling to me and I said yesterday this guy has some serious conflicts of his own.
Still, Im sure Øbama has been with more men than her . .

So, the Wookie dated Mr. Potato Head. She’s really moved up in life.
I wonder if a “package check” ended that affair.
I saw that mentioned in the Issa hearing live thread, Did George mention that in the hearing? If he did, I missed it.

I don’t really care. I read they were in a student group at school.
I’ve watched Mr. George’s testimony the last few sessions and I believe him to be a forthright and honest man. The IRS is the target here, we shouldn’t shoot the messenger.
I saw him several times cast a contemptuous glance at not only Lerner...but Shulman as well. He did an audit, was stonewalled at times..and brought out the ugly for all to see. His office is now doing a full investigation and he has already indicated that there are other “BOLO”’s and red flags.
As someone who worked in Q. A., conducted audits and occasionally had to deliver bad news, I am thankful it was never at the level he is dealing with. Although I have had snide comments made, my integrity wasn’t called into question. I see a man of integrity in the Russell George.
