President Barack Obama says supporting transitions to democracy in unstable regions like the Middle East will remain a key part of his strategy for fighting terrorism.
He cited as an example the need to support those in Syria who are fighting to overthrow the government. He cautioned, however, that ending tyranny in Syria must not give way to the tyranny of terrorism.

The guy is just hopelessly full of sh*t.
How did I know from the headline that Syria was going to be mentioned?
Obammie wants to send troops to Syria in the worst way. What a great diversion, right? No more attention being paid to “irrelevant facts” AKA scandals.
There are no emerging democracies in terrorist countries run by muslims. There is not room for freedom in their deviant worship of a pedophile. Let them kill one another.
Yeah, support those emerging democracies that a far worse than the dictatorships they replaced.
The headline made me think Texas
“It starts at home”, a-hole.
Heat seeking missiles are closing in on Zero, and he’s dropping flares.
The Islamists certainly took the bit about “win(ning) the battle of democracy” out of chapter 2 of the Communist Manifesto and made it all their own.
. . . while destroying it in America.
If Sharia Law is democracy someone missed the boat!
I believe democracy has a Bill of Rights attached!
The insurgents or whatever you want to call them, have just announced their intent to harm individual people in the region. How can we back them, when they are clearly rogue agents?
This president is anything but presidential.
This guy is a looney tune.
He withdrew from Iraq, and is surrendering in Afghanistan.
Iraq was further along than the press portrayed...and now it is just another hell hole with any Christian and freedom-minded allies of America fighting for their lives...and Obama is ignoring them.
Afghanistan wasn’t as far along, but at least some women and children had some educational rights and the Taliban weren’t forming up again...
But hey, Obama is walking away from that obligation, too.
He will run like a sissy at the first sign of trouble in any nation he PRETENDS to support.
I remember Mubarak sat with the Clown in D.C., just a FEW WEEKS BEFORE the Muslim Brotherhood began their rape-fest of American journalists...the Clown spoke of our friendship with Egypt. And right after that, BOOM! the Clown threw him under the bus.
He and Hitlery abandoned our main Pakistani informant regarding Osama bin Laden—and now the man is in a prison being tortured.
The Clown and Hitlery have hindered our foreign policy for DECADES. No one in these third world nations has ANY reason to trust this administration.
Does he know of one ?
Oh .... dictators are democrats .... NOW I get it.
That was the Economic Bill of rights proposed but the Original Bill of Rights covered the Second Bill of rights if adhered to.
Venezuela? “Palestine”? Kosovo? Or maybe Afghanistan, which he’s publicly had marked for abandonment since he started his run for TOTUS? Kurdistan? How about the Iranian protesters seeking the overthrow of the Islamofascist dictatorship?
Islamic democracy's fundamental principle: One man, one vote, one time. Then, Sharia!
