The Boy Scouts of America's National Council has voted to ease a long-standing ban and allow openly gay boys to be accepted as Scouts.

That's not likely to work. Any large organization is going to face the same pressures and demands. And Scouting just doesn't have as wide an appeal as it once did. If anything comes along in the future to replace the BSA, it won't just be the same thing run in the same way with a different name.
They basically went with the “new” Mormon perspective on homos: “Let ‘em in”.
No question now the culture has become left-wing on social issues. The 60% vote shows this.
FReepers who denigrate gay marriage polls saying they do not reflect actual beliefs are wrong — the country has gone insanely liberal.
Boys can and do bully, and molest other boys. I would not allow my son to join such a group. If they want to form a new organization called ‘Gay Scouts of America’, then fine. But don’t expect me to enroll MY kid in it. As it is, I kept him out of BSA because of known homosexual men having access to young boys.
I’m so disappointed that they caved in. It’s a terrible example to fine scouts out there.
Now, I think they really WILL crumble.
Let them. Scouting isn’t and hasn’t been scouting in 30 years. PC took over long ago. I’m glad this will end it.

My boy scout troop was at my Episcopal Church, but that was back in the 50s.
In the 80s I was senior warden of a very old Episcopal church.
That church went over to the dark side and now has a gay priest.
I not only left the church, I left the whole dam* country.

No we do not. We don’t need junior rump rangers using scouting to further their agenda.
I have just told my wife that in the future when Boy Scouts come to my door to sell their stuff...they are to be told sternly that because of their acceptance of homosexual members...they are to get off my property and not return. In the past, I have always bought stuff from them to support them....NO MORE!
We have to accept reality and stop fighting to prolong that which has been corrupted. I hate it. But it is what it is.
I think what’s going to happen is that people will start asking questions about how and when did a boy under the age of concent figure out he was gay.
I think parents of ‘gay’ boys will still probably avoid scouting, unless, of course, they are the adopted sons of two gay parents.
When that activism starts to root, I think you’ll see a backlash.
I also think the current board is going to end up getting fired.
This is the first shot in the war, not the last.
There was a line from High Plains Drifter that comes to mind:
“Promisin’s one thing, payin’s another.”
Once this hits their pocketbook, I think they’ll take another look.
I would agree with everyone here in saying that the world is getting worse. I guess that’s what has to happen before it ends.
This vote was obviously rigged by their “leadership.” Now watch the real vote take place, which will be the mass exodus of decent, God-fearing families from this organization. So much for “morally straight.” RIP BSA.
