Roger Ailes' letter to Fox employees
Foxnews.com ^ | May 23, 2013 | Roger Ailes

Posted on 05/24/2013 4:01:31 AM PDT by Timber Rattler

Dear colleagues,

The recent news about the FBI’s seizure of the phone and email records of Fox News employees, including James Rosen, calls into question whether the federal government is meeting its constitutional obligation to preserve and protect a free press in the United States. We reject the government's efforts to criminalize the pursuit of investigative journalism and falsely characterize a Fox News reporter to a Federal judge as a "co-conspirator" in a crime. I know how concerned you are because so many of you have asked me: why should the government make me afraid to use a work phone or email account to gather news or even call a friend or family member? Well, they shouldn’t have done it. The administration’s attempt to intimidate Fox News and its employees will not succeed and their excuses will stand neither the test of law, the test of decency, nor the test of time. We will not allow a climate of press intimidation, unseen since the McCarthy era, to frighten any of us away from the truth.

keeping an openly gay flamer as head anchor

FWIW, I don't believe Smith is openly gay. He's gay alright, imo, but he keeps his sex life in the closet.

Guess I never really thought about it, I dislike him as a news person so I don’t watch him, but like I said in a previous post, I ain’t surprised.........at all.

I can’t stand him either. He’s the token liberal who only spews the same talking points over and over. He doesn’t have an original thought in his micro brain.

I find that even when I turn the volume down on my TV when Shep Smith is on, his voice still hurts my head.

If Ailes was really interested in stopping this he would take this opportune time to tell the world that Soros, Emanuel, and Axelrod threatened to annihilate Fox through the FCC if they reported on Obama’s eligibility problem - once before the 2008 election and at least once between his election and inauguration.

Let’s get the truth out there. Obama’s regime has been able to be installed and to run roughshod over the Constitution because they have threatened the conservative press. It’s time to fight back. This is the big story that will dwarf the others, although it’s all cloth from the same bolt.

An aside. When Jay Carney was given the talking points to ask whether the birth certificate questions were valid, in response to questions about the validity of the questioning over the current “scandals”, those talking points were given to him by those who knew all about the threats to the media regarding the birth certificate issue. To most of us, Carney saying that the press should look into the birth certificate if they think these scandals are also worth checking out... sounded reasonable. But to the press that was a shot across the bow - a reminder that what they did to the press on the birth certificate issue can be done on these other issues as well.

If Ailes and the others in the media have half a brain between them all, they will realize that if they DON’T stand up to this now, and come out with the whole story to bury Obama once and for all, they will NEVER be rid of the Nazgul that are chasing them. Never. Now is the time to fight, not to cower. Obama’s regime is vulnerable because even the dems in Congress have to acknowledge that this thuggery is not OK. There could not be a more optimal time to come out with the truth. This coming Monday, if they have half a brain between them all, they will tell the story of how Obama was REALLY able to get into our White House.

You're reading more into Isaiah than what Isaiah wrote ...

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

I'd recommend your thanking God for gravity ... and science in general ... Darwin included.

I watch FOX to get the factual news, not to listen to the likes of Beckel (sp?) and Juan Williams spew the liberal talking points of the day.

There's nothing wiser than putting liberal idiots into a "fair and balanced" arena to prove that they're idiots.

I detest liberals, and watching them squirm makes my day.

I was troubled by that remark, as well. What was the impact of the anti-Communist house cleaning on the press?

I agree with that. Still, the definition of “openly gay” is a guy who publicly declares his homosexuality, as did Anderson Cooper recently. Smith hasn’t done that.

” UPDATE: John Coale, an advisor to Palin who, as Greta van Susteren’s husband, also knows the Fox News leadership, writes to rebut the claims of the unnamed Republican operative:

“I know both Roger and Sarah quite well, and nothing could be further from the truth than the unnamed ‘Republican’ who said Roger thinks Palin is an idiot,” Coale says.”

You need to finish reading before you post : )

” Well, Roger, how hard are you going to fight back? Are you going to reverse your move into ‘moderacy’ and give Conservatives their time in the sun, or are you going to stick with the rovian attacks on us even now that you know we were right all along?”

Ailes has been a real disappointment. 28 million a year (percentage bonuses) have gone to his head.
