Obama’s EPA Scandal Begins To See The Light Of Day
Freedom Outpost ^ | May 24, 2013 | Tim Brown

Currently on the front burner of scandals in the Obama administration are Benghazi, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) targeting of conservative groups, and the AP scandal. Of course, Fast and Furious is also still very much alive. However, over the past week, two more scandals are coming to light and may be just as big as the others. One of those involves the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Congressional Republicans are accusing the agency of giving unfair preference to environmental groups when it comes to information requests. They are comparing the behavior to that of the IRS in giving additional scrutiny to Tea Party organizations.

A letter was sent by Republican Senators David Vitter (R-LA), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) along with Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA) to Acting EPA Administrator Bob Perciasepe last Friday. They have accused the agency of continuing to make conservative think tanks and state and local governments pay full price for obtaining documents under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), but routinely waiving those fees for environmental groups.

“This disparate treatment is unacceptable, especially in light of the recent controversy over abusive tactics at the Internal Revenue Service, which singled out conservative groups for special scrutiny,” the legislators wrote.

They specifically pointed out that, according to the data, ninety-two percent of fee waivers granted by the EPA were requests from environmental groups.

“The startling disparity in treatment strongly suggests EPA’s actions are possibly part of a broader effort to collude with groups that share the agency’s political agenda and discriminate against states and conservative organizations,” they alleged. “This is a clear abuse of discretion.”

This has Democrats worried. As Julian Hattem writes, “President Obama’s nominee to lead the EPA, Gina McCarthy, advanced out of committee on a party line vote on Thursday, but Democrats worry about a Republican filibuster on the Senate floor.“

So much for equal protection.

Good find and thanks for posting.

This scandal by itself may not have been able to get people’s attention but the combined effects of all these scandals taken as a whole is building a picture of massive government corruption that even the low information voter can absorb. The general concept of ‘corruption’ is understandable to nearly everyone, and not many people like the thought of it. The persistence of hearing this simple message can be very damaging to the Dems.

Well, how about those stupid wind farms. Here in Wisconsin, it’s not bad enough we have to look at them, but now they’ve added ugly red blinking lights to the top, so even at night you have to look at this disgusting ruination of our landscape.

Just this week, it was mentioned that EPA clamps down on oil companies for birds being killed, but wind farms not!

The list goes on and on. EPA should be abolished. Green Weenies are in charge over there.

“So much for equal protection.”

The people must be protected from evil, mean, vile,
gun-loving, bible-thumping, anti-choice, knuckle-dragging, neanderthal, Christian morons.

My state senator introduced a bill the other day that would limit the cost of FOIA requested papers to no more than 10 cents per page. (Obviously that’s for state and local documents)

As he points out, there’s no reason the people should be excluded from looking at these documents due to cost. If it passes, we’ll be able to get a look at signatures on petitions to confirm that our names weren’t fraudulently added. I had reason to suspect that my name was added to a pro union petition last fall but couldn’t afford the cost of looking. This would put it within reach.

Personally I think they should all go online.

I have first hand knowledge of the gestapho tactics of these clowns. Figured it would finally catch up with them.

The boy barry has used the gov’t to DISCRIMINATE against citizens. He showed his discrimination starting with a cop who acted stupidity for arresting ‘his friend’ and threw a beer party to cover it up until his czars were in place - then it ran through the gov’t agencies at lightning speed to assure ‘his seat’ so he could further harm America and ‘audit intimidated’ Patriots and used his power to restrain their speech while ordering others to stand down. Anyone think ‘voter fraud’ has not been a useful tool used by this boy?

Great Lakes czar (And chicago pal of Obama) Cameron Davis is also a special advisor to the EPA. He was also the president of the alliance for the great lakes. Their goals include removing all the dams and people from the great lakes region.

Remember when we thought Democrats had ‘high ideals’? What a joke.

Can't think of ONE principle Democrats hold today beyond ‘WE WANT POWER da Chicago WAY”

The best we can say about them is they're thuggy Union goon types and the worst is that they're biased narrow minded totalitarians.

I will never look up to a Democrat again.

I can call you an informed voter with no problem! I think it started when, as a kid, you knew how to connect the dots! Thinking back, now, to those ‘connect the dots’ workbooks, the dots were black. Am I remembering them correctly?

” but Democrats worry about a Republican filibuster on the Senate floor.“

That’s why Reid will postpone them, and exercise the “Nuclear Option.” No filibusters.

“Remember when we thought Democrats had ‘high ideals’? What a joke.”

I never thought democrats had high ideals. They were the backers of abortion in 1973. How can someone who wants to kill babies be said to have high ideals.

Unfortunately many folks older than I still think of the rats as being for the little guy (which they arguably never were but they sold a good story)
