COLUMBUS Twenty people voted both in battleground Ohio and in another state during last years presidential election, while 115 more voted twice in the state, the top elections official said on Thursday.
In the majority of those cases, the fraudulent ballots were caught and not counted, but in some cases they did make it through the states defenses, according to Secretary of State Jon Husted.
Voter fraud does exist, but its not an epidemic, he said. No amount of fraud is acceptable, and if you cheat, you will be caught, and you will be held accountable.

Those 20 interstate voters have been referred to Attorney General Mike DeWine for potential charges. In northwest Ohio, one voter apiece in Wood and Allen counties are among the 20.

We have a number now, said Peg Rosenfeld, elections specialist for the League of Women Voters of Ohio. You cant ever say that it [voter fraud] is totally unknown, but they make one very good point: If you try to cheat, you will be caught. There are so many safeguards. Youre not going to get away with it."
The fraud cases represent just 0.002397 percent of the 5.6 million who voted last fall in Ohio -- one 200th of 1 percent, Ms. Rosenfeld said.
These are 135 cases that have been referred to prosecutors, she said. They arent all convictions. Theyre just accusations."

Online headline: Ohio voter fraud relatively low
Ohio ping
For every one they catch, there are a hundred that they didn't.
Is there something wrong with that? If you have a Green Card?
This is how democrats get elected.
“For every one they catch, there are a hundred that they didn’t. “
Yeah. Like the busload of people, who didn’t speak English, being shunted around from precinct to precinct.
I would guess that to be a spit in the bucket, and nothing compared to voters who shouldn’t have voted the one time, or dead voters. Where there are Democrats, there is corruption, lots and lots of corruption.

Democrats busing in Somali Muslims who cant speak English, likely arent citizens
Toledo Blade...it should read more than 100 Ohioans failed in their attempts to vote more than once.
___________
Sadly I think they did vote twice, but got caught (votes counted at the time). And yes, for every one that gets caught there are others who do not get caught.
> Ohio voter fraud relatively low
That would be funny if it weren’t a blatant lie.
They are only showing the very tip of the iceberg.
Oh, and which of us needs to guess for which party these criminals voted.
They should be prohibited from voting anywhere for anything forever.
No amount of fraud is acceptable, and if you cheat, you will be caught, and you will be held accountable.
But only if you are Conservative. What? You don’t like it? No health care for you!
Those are just the numbers they CAUGHT.
Funny thing. Never once in my life have I ever considered voting twice, or that it would even be allowed.
Only 100 got caught!
They should be prohibited from voting anywhere for anything forever.
_______________
The consequences should be painful for voting more than once. Perhaps there is another additional consequence besides revoking voting privileges ?
No mention in the story as to the party affliliation of the 20 voters who double dipped.
Gee, I wonder if all were Democrats?
Only 100? Add a few zero’s to that and you’ll have the number of dead people in Chicago still voting every election.
After Benghazi and the IRS scandels, how hard is it to believe they stole it?
Total Propaganda. Massive voter fraud in Ohio. This whole story was ginned up just to say there is not much voter fraud for the brain dead.
Let’s get the headline straight,Toledo Blade...it should read more than 100 Ohioans failed in their attempts to vote more than once.
*********************************************************
.....because they were stupid and tried to vote multiple times IN THEIR OWN NAMES.
Thousands of others weren’t stupid and voted, usually multiple times, in the names of tens of thousands of other registered voters who did not bother to vote.
This is why ENFORCED voter ID is needed. And it is why measures against absentee voter fraud need to be enacted.
With voting at 130%+ of registered precinct dem voters, that’s fraud.
Philly, Pitt, Cleveland, Toledo, Chicago, Miami, LA, NYC and a thousand other cities account for it, bigtime. Plus, the illegals, the dead, unregistereds, bus-ins etc.
What a junk article.
Now that John Friggin Kerry has moved to State we're having a special Senate election here in the Gay State. When voting in the primary a few weeks ago I did the same thing I've done in the last several elections...I asked if I was required to show an ID.As I reached for my wallet the poll worker said "we don't want to see your ID,it's not required by law".While I was quiet and polite the poll worker responded to me in a loud and aggressive fashion. She was so loud that the cop...a member of a left wing police union...started to move toward me and gave me a dirty look as I moved toward the voting booth. It would appear that the entrenched power structure in this state (read: the Rat Party) doesn't take kindly to voter ID.Not at *all* kindly.
What a junk article.
___________
The article is not accurate about the amount of voter fraud. The question is - is there anything that can be done to prevent this in the future? And who or which organization has that task?
Without direct poll supervision in thousands of precincts known for voting fraud, there’s no way to stop it.
Does anyone know if this is true? I’ve read it for years, in score of publications.

Check this out:
Oh please! A lot of people reported signs of large-scale fraud taking place at early voting sites. NOTHING was done about it, as far as I know, by either party or county/state officials. When it isn't legal to pull out your phone and snap pics or take video of poll workers engaging in suspect activities, how is it supposed to be reliably documented for further investigation? IMHO there is too little poll worker accountability.
After the things I saw going on inside the building last November, it isn't the voters who vote more than once that concern me; it's poll workers. I don't have the answer but there HAS to be a way to make them more accountable and less able to intimidate and interfere without consequence.

_____________
I read about this agreement the RNC made last fall.
While we may not have that option - there are local board of elections offices - maybe ask questions there?

Agreed! There has to be a way. Since they decided to put surveillance cameras everywhere, why not in the polling place? It would be interesting to find out what is already on the books in local areas.
Other than that - you can become a poll worker if you have the time off work.
In Illinois how it works is that if you don’t vote, a poll worker simply votes for you.
If we were to start sending “voter receipts” to voters after the election, I think many people who didn’t vote would be surprised that they actually voted after all.
In Illinois how it works is that if you dont vote, a poll worker simply votes for you.
____________
well now - isn’t that something!??
Voter receipt - that is concept I haven’t heard before.
That Immigration bill has biometric National ID in it.
Perhaps that would cut down on voter fraud - only those with that National ID can vote in their name.
One solution would be to have poll workers vote immediately upon arrival and not be allowed back in the booths after that.
Might cut down on double voters and deceased voters if poll workers really insist on the ID. How would it affect absentee ballot fraud though? Doesn't address machine tampering or those boxes of ballots that go missing or materialize out of thin air.
Not sure how the National ID would work in certain places. I have always shown ID to vote in Ohio.
As for absentee and early voting - that’s a good question - and machine tampering too.
The suggestion made here seems reasonable.
” having poll workers vote immediately upon arrival and not be allowed back in the booths after that”
It would be good to find out how it works in your local area and find the websites like true the vote and black box voting to learn more.
I like the concept of keeping poll workers away from the voting area. How could it be enforced? Who would have authority to do anything if the worker disobeyed? Who would assist voters who need help after entering the booth? Who would set up touch screen machines to accept the next voter? If someone drafted a bill that makes this both workable and enforceable I'd be working my buns off to help it pass!
Is there really any provable credibility to this?
25% of the Voters in Ohio don’t exist? I can’t beleive this?
It was reported during or directly after the election that there were some irregularities. Specifically, I recall that Democrats took buses of high school students to the polls.
I also recall that there was a large group of Somalians taken to the polls, who did not speak or write English.
But I don’t think that 25% of Ohio voters do not exist. That percentage seems high, it could be a significant number, however.
For every voter that is caught in voter fraud there are more that are not caught in my opinion.
As far as the DOJ interfering in efforts to purge the voting rolls, that was another type of targeting by the DOJ, in my opinion.
And further down in the article it mentioned that the DOJ targeted specific municipalities in elections. That action taken should be reviewed by someone who has a better understanding of voter law than I, but it deserves to be investigated given the current scandal-gate environment.
