SALT LAKE CITY -- When the Boy Scouts of America began a discussion earlier this year about lifting its ban on gays, some speculated it could lead to the severing of ties with the Mormon church that goes back 100 years.
Those predictions ended up being off the mark.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints threw its support behind the new policy voted on Thursday by the Boy Scouts of America that opens the door for gay youth to join the ranks, while continuing to ban gay adult Scout leaders.

I wonder what the Mormons will do when the Scoutmasters are allowed to go full homo?
Can’t wait for the gay weddings at the temple.
However, I’ve heard that if gay Scoutmasters get in, the LDS is going out.
BTW: The Baltimore BSA Council has already started working on getting gay Scoutmasters admitted [only one day after the vote] ...

I knew they would. If gay marriage becomes legal expect them to have a revelation allowing it in their ‘sacred’ temples.
That is just surface, not reality. Been there, done that, read the book, saw the movie, wore the garments.
If you read the release, as I did five times, it states that homosexual behavior is not and has not ever been allowed in LDS scout troops. Homosexual behavior is automatic dismissal from a LDS scout troop as well as membership in the church.
While homosexual behavior is a great sin, the LDS church had not turned against homosexuality but his encouraged homosexuals to repent of such sinful behavior and come onto Jesus Christ.
While the I think this will open another can of worms I understand what scouting does to strengthen young men and I intend to support my nephew at his Eagle court of honor next weekend.
You won’t see me in a Mormon church any more .... oh wait.

Their views are changing and needs to in order for them to stop the loss of membership.

With their weathervane theology, this ain’t very surprising.
It doesn’t matter what the Mormons do. The Boy Scouts will be a defacto gay organization from top to bottom (cringe) within 10 years.
Who is stopping Gay Scouts of Amerika from having their own whatever?
Why do they have screw anything that is decent?
