Just ran across a hand written note my father received years ago thanking him for taking him fishing Mom and dad had gone north fishing at the same lodge were a group of men moose hunting. They never saw a moose but mom and dad saw them while fishing.
One of their party offered to go out with dad while mom slept in. Dad asked him what he did He replied he raced cars. To who which dad replied but what do you do for a living ?
They had a great time fishing and saw two moose.

I saw the ‘81 Indy 500 from the infield at the exit of turn 4. It looked like Mario Andretti won the race, but he got a penalty imposed after the end of the race. They said under a yellow flag that he was entering the track from the pits and passed a car on the track while he was on the pit exit lane. There was a very bad accident with Danny Ongias in the black Interscope car number 0. He hit the wall exiting turn 3. I could feel the whump in my chest and then there was the plume of black smoke. Ongias survived, but was badly hurt and it ended his driving career.
ABC network works pretty good.

I checked and it seems Ongias did come back to race at Indy the next year.
