If you get a chance visit the Chickamanga Battle Field site, better than Gettysburg, very well maintained. Had a family member from the 4th Cav, Federal, who fought there, enlisted 1856.

Had another relative killed there with the 118th Illinois on Missionary Ridge after the main battle two of his brothers were there when Grant relieved Chattanooga.

Chickamauga is my favorite battlefield. I think it is
in pretty much the same shape as it was at the time of
the battle.
