DEAD SEA, Jordan Hoping to use economic promise as a bridge to a peace deal between Palestinians and Israel, Secretary of State John F. Kerry announced an estimated $4 billion economic development proposal for the West Bank on Sunday that he said could cut the 21 percent unemployment rate by two-thirds.
The greatest existential threat and the greatest economic threat to both sides is the lack of peace, Kerry said. To not try to head these off would be tragic, and it would be irresponsible.
International business leaders rallied by former British prime minister Tony Blair will propose new agricultural, construction and other investment to the Palestinian Authority that could increase the Palestinian gross domestic product by 50 percent over three years, Kerry said.
The State Department would not identify participating companies or provide other details about the content or timing of individual proposed investments. The money would come from the private sector, not U.S. taxpayers.
Kerry addressed a World Economic Forum meeting after speeches by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli President Shimon Peres. The gathering on the shores of the Dead Sea in Jordan was a rare direct meeting between Israeli and Palestinian leaders, although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not attend. . .

Nice. $4 billion for terrorists.
Then Kerry meant the money would come from private investors paid off, in a “crony capitalistic” way, by U.S. taxpayers and their children and their children’s children by borrowing from China and money printing.
Stimulus for Terrorists. And yes, it will come from US taxpayers.
The PLO has tons of shovel ready jobs to build bunkers and rocket factories
Plus tons of Swiss Bank accounts for the Leadership to fill with skimmed funds
Same as it ever was except that the dollar does not buy as many Klashnikovs assault rifles or tons of Semtex explosives as it used to.
Hard times indeed
The money could be better spent on repairing the bridge infrastructure in the United States, and/or to mitigate the need for a sequester, do you not agree?
Yeah. For $4 billion the Palestinians can buy their own nuke.
You basically dump into a pit, and wait till it’s gone, and then ask for more.
Now, if they said....we need a real harbor, and some cranes to off-load, that might relate to some possible positives for the local business community. But these are never the type to think of projects that people buy into.
Phase 1: Open Swiss and Caymans bank accounts.
Yep, the money will go directly to terrorists! I never could believe the the US would be part of this Revelation to wipe out Israel. But here we are. We’re Damned!!!
God Forgive us.
Giving away OUR money. They use OUR money to fund THIER agenda at the expence of our children and our way of life.
I'd like to see Kerry get any of those muzzie b@$tards to say publically that they want peace with Israel.
Why would that matter ? Their “good book” says it’s OK to lie to infidels. They’ll say they want peace with a wink and a nod. Only a (non-Mohammadan) moron would believe them.
Gee, John, I think this idea is just so different than all the other ideas of dumping boatloads of money into the hands of bigoted angry anti progress, anti semitic people that have no interest in fixing their little piece of the world and are far more interested in destroying the Jews little piece of the world.
What could go wrong?
Before you over-react, please realize that EACH Arab/Moslem in the “disputed territories” receives thousands of US dollars a year in “aid.” Few people have been to these places, but when I went, they were jam-packed with Mercedes, BMW, and other luxury cars. I might add that the air smells of hashish and you WILL get a contact high on just about any street. (ahem.) Is it any wonder USAID workers adore this post? Between the wealth, drugs, and UN-funded underage prostitution, it’s about as good as it gets. So, brothers and sisters, do all you can to reverse Israeli oppression. The “Palestinans” are counting on you! Allahu Akbar!
Plant tomatoes & open a ketchup farm.
This is what you get when you elect a Muslim as President who appoints a traitor as Secretary of State.
Giving the so-called Palestinians 4 Billion dollars would be insane for any administration other than this one.
With this one it is par for the course.
Obama said he was spending all of his time working for jobs, he just didn’t say they were Muslim jobs.
Isn’t this how Arafat became a billionaire?
Kerry says the money would come from private investors and not U.S. taxpayers.
And this being such a good idea ( SARC) , let’s see an award given for the highest donor and a list of those contributing.
After all, why give money to say Oklahoma.... it’s better off over there (SARC)
Agreed especially as most of the money will wind up in Switzerland ensconced in a numbered account.
Few people have been to these places, but when I went, they were jam-packed with Mercedes, BMW, and other luxury cars
Very true. The average American has no idea what happens with the money,
and also how much of a real class divide there is in many of these countries.
In some people actually live in graveyards along with their relatives, as that’s
the only piece of land they have any claim to.
Go to Cairo, and you will be surprised at the part of the tour that called “ the city of the Dead”
Huh? And, may as well take that money and put it directly in Palestinian leaders' Swiss accounts.
You should post this at the original article site, too! Do you think a documentary about all the wasted foreign funding would be possible?
Kerry says the money would come from private investors and not U.S. taxpayers.
private investors = U.S. taxpayers in the progressive playbook
Swiss bankers are licking their chops...
Damn this fool John Kerry..... Damn him.
How about pointing it to Oklahoma instead, John?
"Blair and Tim Collins, a billionaire investor and friend of Kerrys, recruited business leaders over the past six weeks as Kerry tried to nudge the two sides back to direct peace talks that have been mostly stalled for five years."
"A longer exploration of his faith can be found in an interview with Third Way Magazine. There he says that "I was brought up as [a Christian], but I was not in any real sense a practising one until I went to Oxford. There was an Australian priest at the same college as me who got me interested again. In a sense, it was a rediscovery of religion as something living, that was about the world around me rather than some sort of special one-to-one relationship with a remote Being on high. Suddenly I began to see its social relevance. I began to make sense of the world".
"On 22 December 2007, it was disclosed that Blair, who in 1996, had been reprimanded by Cardinal Basil Hume for receiving Holy Communion at Mass despite not being a Catholic, in contravention of canon law, had converted to the Catholic faith, and that it was "a private matter". He had informed Pope Benedict XVI on 23 June 2007 that he wanted to become a Catholic. The Pope and his advisors criticised some of Blair's political actions, but followed up with a reportedly unprecedented red-carpet welcome, which included Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, who would be responsible for Blair's Catholic instruction. In 2010, The Tablet named him as one of Britains most influential Roman Catholics."
"In an interview with Christianity Today, Kerry said of his faith: "I'm a Catholic and I practice, but at the same time I have an open-mindedness to many other expressions of spirituality that come through different religions. ... I've spent some time reading and thinking about religion and trying to study it, and I've arrived at not so much a sense of the differences, but a sense of the similarities in so many ways." He said that he believed that the Torah, the Qur'an, and the Bible all share a fundamental story which connects with readers."
"He is involved in several not-for-profit and public sector activities, including the U.S.-Japan Business Council, the Trilateral Commission, the U.S.-Japan Private Sector/Government Commission, Yale Divinity School advisory board, Yale School of Management board of advisors, American Friends of the British Museum, Yaddo, the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia, Trout Unlimited, and Lenox Hill Neighborhood House and the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.
He was also a delegate at the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Bilderberg Group Conference held in Spain, Switzerland, and Chantilly, Virginia. This group consists of an assembly of notable politicians, industrialists and financiers who meet annually to discuss issues on a non-disclosure basis."
Office of the Quartet Representative - Tony Blair
"The Quartet, set up in 2002, consists of the United Nations, the European Union, the United States and Russia. Its mandate is to help mediate Middle East peace negotiations and to support Palestinian economic development and institution-building in preparation for eventual statehood."
Tony Blair Faith Foundation
"The Foundation's basic premises listed in their initial mission statement are: 1) faith is important to many, underpinning their systems of thought, their behaviour and the behaviour of many of the world's progressive movements, and that 2) the great religions share values of respect, justice and compassion. But it is also recognised that faith can be divisive, too. This is viewed by the Foundation as being based on distortions of faith rather than being intrinsic to it. Their aim is to use the tools of modern communication to "educate, inform and develop understanding" about various faiths, and the relationships between them. It aims to do this in such a way as to address global poverty and conflict."
"Social Justice/Gospelites" march "FORWARD" thinking they're doing God a favor.
"Peace and Security" this way slithers.
“It offers residencies to artists working in choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. Collectively, artists who have worked at Yaddo have won 66 Pulitzer Prizes, 27 MacArthur Fellowships, 61 National Book Awards, 24 National Book Critics Circle Awards, 108 Rome Prizes, 49 Whiting Writers’ Awards, a Nobel Prize (Saul Bellow, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1976), and countless other honors. Yaddo is included in the Union Avenue Historic District.”
“Rome Prize winners go to the American Academy in Rome, established in 1894 and chartered by an Act of the United States Congress in 1905, on the Janiculum, Rome’s highest hill.”
The Janiculum was a center for the cult of the god Janus, and the fact that it overlooked the city made it a good place for augurs to observe the auspices.
In Roman mythology, Janiculum is the name of an ancient town founded by the god Janus (the two-faced god of beginnings). In Book VIII of the Aeneid by Virgil (Publius Vergilius Maro), King Evander shows Aeneas (the Trojan hero of this epic poem) the ruins of Saturnia and Janiculum on the Capitoline hill near the Arcadian city of Pallanteum (the future site of Rome) (see line 473, Bk. 8). Vergil uses the presence of these ruins to stress the significance of the Capitoline hill as the religious center of Rome.
Kerry is an idiot! I knew that long ago; this latest stupidity just proves it..
Then the investors are idiots. There can never, ever be peace in the Middle East. The followers of Mohamed will not, cannot let that happen.
“...Who has established a home in Jerusalem, for just this very cause.”
Nearly fell off my chair on that one.
Borrowing ~ 46% of each of these $4 billion, from thin-air and/or foreigner nations, we give it to our enemies. Some would call this treason; others would mutter, “The asylum of our era”.
