Frankly, what needs to happen is for every straight man who was the subject of an assault or attempted assault by a homosexual pedophile is to come out and tell the world how prevalent this is and how dangerous the policy of the Scouts is. My guess is most straight guys have been the subject of unwanted homosexual approach or assault by older men at least once when they were in their teens, but most are too embarrassed now to come out and tell the world what can happen and what happened to them.

Is this in response to the recent announcement by National Council, or has it been a long-standing "rule"? Do you recall an article that you could link to?

It will be up to the parents to let children stay where they are exposed to "normalization."

The question then becomes “If you have a gay Scout or Scoutmaster, do you want to know?”.
The “never alone with a Scout” rule was designed to get around the idea that we never knew who was gay.
Ironically, most of the homosexuals wanting to be Scoutmasters seem to be lesbians as best I can tell.
