I’m not blaming her. I just really tried to like her during the season, and could not because of her phoniness. I do think she could outgrow it and come into her own. She is talented.
Of course she had nothing to do with the town’s decision.

She could have canceled right up to the end.

She still could have refused right up to the end. It is Memorial Day after all. Maybe she is not familiar with Memorial Day.

Why couldn’t they just let her be part of the parade on a float. Or at a follow on concert on the town green.
To: Hildy
Why is everyone blaming her for the City Councils stupidity. The "right" is as capable of fashionable stupidity as the "left". It's part of our fallen, sinful human nature.

She could have canceled right up to the end. The end of what? So you really do expect her to know the future. This is the city's fault, not hers.

They were at two different times. I guess the Idol appearance was about three weeks ago. So the city shot it’s funds on that instead.

Jay Leno is from Beverly, Mass. Let him pick up the tab.

She participated didn’t she? Don’t tell me she didn’t know she was participating.

Good grief. She participated in a parade on May 4. It was not reported that the Memorial Day parade would be canceled until May 22. As I said before, she would have to be psychic to know that an event three weeks later would be cancelled. You seem to be making the claim that she ought to be held accountable for something she simply could not have known.
And for the record, the city did have two flag placing events on the 24th and the 25th and an official ceremony on Sunday, May 26 at Odell Park which was attended by numerous people. For a PDF with pix, follow this link: http://www.beverlyma.gov/news/post/memorial-day-observances
It is sad there was no parade, but to blame Angie Miller for that is completely ridiculous and without foundation.
