10 Musicians Who Should Be Blacklisted By Conservatives
Townhall.com ^ | May 28, 2013 | John Hawkins

Edited on 05/28/2013 5:38:28 AM PDT by Admin Moderator. [history]

Republicans spend too much time complaining about liberals boycotting the advertisers on conservativesí shows and not enough time doing the same thing to the Left. If movie stars trash conservatives, we should be very publicly telling people we're not going to their films and we should take credit if they bomb. If a corporate CEO embraces liberalism, don't buy that companyís products and tell the world why you're doing it. Let him explain to his board of directors why standing up for gay marriage or abortion was worth losing millions of dollars. Seventy percent of the country is Christian, roughly half the country supports the Republican Party and forty percent of Americans are conservative. There are a lot of businesses, artists and musicians who simply cannot survive without the support of people like us. The only reason they dare to trash us or publicly support people who hate our guts is because we all too often shrug our shoulders and then willingly hand over our money to people who despise us.

“George Bush doesn’t care about black people.”

States Kanye West who loves black women so much he would rather screw a white porn star named Kim Kardashian than a good black woman.

Yeah he really loves his own race.

I blacklisted these morons long ago. Along with Bon Jovi and Green Day. Problem is, there are so many morons to blacklist that I’m running out of options. JCP, Dick’s Sporting, Starbucks, it goes on and on.

Not only does their music suck, if you can even call it music by any stretch of the imagination, but every one of them makes a mud fence look comely by comparison.

Springstein, Midler, and Streisand are admittedly talented performers (although Bruce was much better when he was a hungry young singer performing 4-hour concerts when he was in his 20s and early 30s). As for the others, it's not hard to boycott such sucky singers.

That said, I'm glad you don't have Willie Nelson on this list.

There are only 2 songs on my iPod from among these 10 artists:
1. “Do You Wanna Dance” by Bette Midler
2. “Missing” by Bruce Springsteen from the Sean Penn film, The Crossing Guard
...and somewhat like the musicality of “People” by Babs, but not enough to spring for 99 cents.

It’s going to take more than passive boycotts to restore the balance. We’re going to have to get in the streets at these slimebags’ concerts and protest them the same way they protest anything they don’t like. And when they show up on Oprah and badmouth us, we have to have our people in the audience to loudly denounce them.

Boycott by all means. But don’t stop there. One small thing you can do? If you see a flyer for an anti-American company like JCPenney or Levi, quietly remove it and throw it in the trash.

Oh, and if you’re at a bookstore or magazine rack that features one of these plastic buffoons, remove the magazine and put it back backwards and upside down. The average liberal will never be able to figure out how to fix it.

I didn't bother to read the quotes but I did read the names in red. If I recognize them it's not because I have any interest in them nor have I ever consumed their product. It's because they made the home page of a website I visit. I might listen to Barbra Streisand sing on the radio because my wife likes her voice, but it's not like we'd go see one of her movies. Or buy one of her albums. Or God forbid, go see her in concert.

We can't boycott what we'd never consume in the first place.

There is a single one of the 10 that isn’t on the downside or the far downside of their careers. All a blacklist would do is give them publicity and enable them to spew their ignorance to a bit of a wider audience.

And when they show up on Oprah and badmouth us, we have to have our people in the audience to loudly denounce them.

It's about message management. Lefties have mastered this, primarily because they also control, in the main, the methods of message distribution. That means we go guerilla in our approach.

What you suggest is the way to go. Get in their faces and make them discredit themselves. Hate is the only card a liberal can play with any degree of consistency. Keep pushing them until they play it, and then defeat them in the debate.

All of these idiots bite the hands that have been feeding their bloated butts for years. Since they believe only liberals have been buying their CDs for years I say let it be so. I can honestly say I have not bought, listened to or watched anything these people have done for years and years.

I don’t waste my money on people who slap me in the face and then hold out their hand for my money. These jerks are morally and ethically bankrupt and not worth my time.

Refusing to listen to any of these is a no-brainer for me. I don’t really care for any of them.

However, I think the prize goes to Springsteen for his astonishingly-wrong list of statements. This borders on ignorance and delusion.

Musicians are Jerks....

here is an interesting quote:

“If you’re listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you’re a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we’re morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal.” - Alice Cooper

If I were to boycott all the musicians I liked, there would be very little left.

I try to not listen to the worst of them.

I like listening to Willie, and the Beatles and Stones....all of them lean much more to the left than I like.....

So I made a deal with myself....
I listen to the non-political music of the aforementioned artists...
and I listen to the politics of a ‘Ted Nugent’ who I agree with politically but am not crazy about their music.

If you need to have their music, just use BitTorrent to get it for free and they don't get a cent.

It's easy.
How to download using Bit Torrent:
1.) Install Bit Torrent
2.) Install an IP Address hider so you don't attract unwanted attention.
Relakks (€50.00 per year and protected by Swedish privacy laws.) 1st choice
    Hide-IP-Soft.com
    Proxifier
3.) Or just install Azarues which has this built-in.

How to find torrents:
Torrent-Finder.info

The Department of Homeland Security actually closed down their dot-com site as you can see here:
Torrent-Finder.com

I purchased a Moby CD about a dozen years ago before he decided he was a “political analyst.” When he spewed his uninformed assessment of President Bush and the state of the country, I quietly took the CD downstairs, grabbed a hammer, and smashed it to bits.

The rest of them, I am happy to say, I’ve never supported.

Johnny Too Bad by The Slickers

Walking down the road
With your pistol in your waist,
Johnny you're too bad.
Walking down the road
With your ratchet in your waist,
Johnny you're too bad.

You're just robbing and you're stabbing and you're looting and you're shooting
Now you're too bad.
You're just robbing and you're stabbing and you're looting and you're shooting
Now you're too bad.

One of these days when you hear a voice say come
Where you gonna run to
One of these days when you hear a voice say come
Where you gonna run to

You're gonna run to the rock for rescue
There will be no rock
You're gonna run to the rock for rescue
There will be no rock

Walking down the road
With your pistol in your waist,
Johnny you're too bad.
Walking down the road
With your ratchet in your waist,
Johnny you're too bad.

The last time I ever paid for music was in 1997 and it was for the appropriately named Monty Python double CD, “The Final Ripoff”.

Well, except for two vinyl records. Kris Kristoferson’s latest and Hank Williams songs (lyrics only) from his notebook that had never been put to music until now.
