yahoo.com ^ | May 28, 2013 | Philip Bump

The House Judiciary Committee is investigating whether or not Attorney General Eric Holder lied under oath during his testimony to them two weeks ago, as reported by The Hill. If the committee determines that he did, Holder could face five years in prison. It very well may. He almost certainly won't.

178) Asked Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate himself for lying under oath

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder lied under oath. He said that he had nothing to do with monitoring the emails of Fox News reporter James Rosen. But it turns out that it was Holder’s own signature on the search warrant.

Holder is as sleazy as they come. But I am preaching to the choir on this issue.

So what is Bonehead and Cantor going to do about it? Not much, I’m sure.

He is a lawyer so he will naturally say he did not lie under oath because the “context” of the question was different than the “other case.”

I learned this from hearing Clinton debate the “meaning” of the word “is.”

It works for a rat lawyer every time.

Here comes the pre-emptive media defense. You have to pay for this kind of story. They are scared to death if they are running stories like this. Nobody likes Holder. He wasn’t elected. The Democrat voters don’t have an emotional investment in him like they do with Obama. I hope they fight it tooth and nail. Who knows what things might come out for all the Democrats to see. I’m just sure all those idealistic college students will be interested to see what a bunch of thieves they’ve been supporting. They will be ecstatic when they look at their college debt and then see the Democrats shoveling money out of the treasury and killing foreigners for profit. Come on Democrats! Drag it out!

I just heard cantor discuss this with Greta, and what a casper milquetoast he is. He epitomizes what is wrong with the spineless republicans.

So who’s going to arrest him? Who has the force of arms? Who will try or convict him? The court of public opinion is the only court that could remove him. The msm will spin it and apologize and rationalize it. Even if they don’t, most of the low info crowd like what he’s doing anyway.

Clinton showed that it isn't considered perjury if a Democrat lies under oath.

Holder can parse his answer and claim that Rosen wasn't included because he wasn't a real journalist, but an employee of Fox News, which he and other Democrats do not consider a real news organization but merely an arm of the Republican Party.

If Holder can claim that he didn't remember the Rosen case during the House hearing — news of it didn't break until last week — he can present at least some defense on this front. He might also argue that there was no "potential prosecution" in the Rosen case; that, in other words, the Department never had any intention of prosecuting Rosen for any conspiracy charges.

Willful ignorance by the author. Holder can do neither. He named Rosen as a co-conspirator and signed off on the warrant. According to Breitbart.com, he also shopped the warrant around until he found a complicit judge.

Nothing will come of it, however...IMHO. If there were any actual MSM journalists willing to do the story, you can believe they're concerned about what info the JD has on them.

What a panacea against ANY future story.

The evidence against him is his signature. Perhaps he'll use the Lois Lerner "autopen" defense: It looks like my signature, but I'm too busy to personally inspect everything that goes out over my name. /S
