I’ll stick with 25. I’m not much of a gambler and it sucks for me to bet against the person I want to win.

Crystal Wright is all wrong for Townhall.

Reading her diatribe you would think that EW Jackson is a white racist. I don’t think she knows that EW is Black.

Of course Crystal is one of those whites who thinks that Conservative Black men are Uncle Toms.

Of course Crystal is one of those whites who thinks that Conservative Black men are Uncle Toms.

You're not even in the ballpark.

Crystal Wright is a black conservative woman living in Washington, D.C. Some would say she is a triple minority: woman, black and a Republican living in a Democrat dominated city. By day, Crystal is a communications consultant and editor and publisher of the new website, www.conservativeblackchick.com. Ms. Wright holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Georgetown University and a Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Jackson is not likely to win a statewide, general election in the state of Virginia. She is simply pointing that out.

Aside from his conservative ideology, the guy is a looney tune, and gives conservatives a bad name. Sorry.

He’s another Alan Keyes type. A fruitcake. Look at his youtube videos. Try selling that to anyone outside of Free Republic.

The media will have a field day with him.

Exactly correct. He has virtually no chance to win a statewide election in the Commonwealth of Virginia, yet almost all the responses here are folks who think EW Jackson is a good choice for nominee. Is it that our grass roots just wear political blinders round the clock, or do our folks just possess no political savvy whatsoever anymore?

I just did a random search on EW Jackson and watched 2 videos one on homosexuality and marriage and the other on the Federal govt role in natural disasters and the tenth amendment. I agree with him totally, so I am I looney tune too?

I don't care for gambling. 25 bucks is my limit. Take it or leave it and quit acting like a whiny little jerk.

You don't like what other people have to say here so you think you can be a thread bully and shut them down with this "bet me or shut up" crap.

EW Jackson is a HORRIBLE nominee who will probably hurt our entire ticket, and I don't care if it offends you to hear that or not. Grow up and stop being a crybaby.

He seems a great deal ‘smoother’ than the candidates you mention - at least what I saw of them.
It’s a long reach but if he’s as smooth in hostile situations as he was in the videos I looked at he’ll pull it off.
Being a good campaigner goes a long way and he seems to have the chops. We’ll know very soon.

I am worried about Cooch letting the media make him comment on Jackson’s remarks instead of ‘Caulife’s. Jackson’s gonna have to show a lot of the ‘love the sinner’ meme to protect both himself and the other R candidates.

I hope the difficulty of his candidacy influences the conservatives and establishment in the RPV to work together with respect for each other in the future.

Here are some of the comments from the u tbe video. I guess yo agree with these cretins, why not add some of your own.:

Apparently this moron doesn't realize that the states are not required to take federal aid for disaster relief, but instead only receive it upon them requesting it, of which almost no state has ever failed to do. · 17 paulchartley paulchartley 1 week ago

He doesn't think that the federal government should be involved in disaster relief BUT he does think that the states should band together to help each other out in the event of a disaster. This man is a moron. The next time Virginia gets devestated by a hurricane, and it will happen, tell him he's on his own. My understanding is that we live in the UNITED States of America. We're all in this together. The idea of sovereignty of the states is pretty absurd. Virginia doesn't issue passports, nor does it have the authority to wage war. You can't cherry pick what you decide makes you soverign and what doesn't.

I've listened to him, AND I agree with him on pretty much everything I've heard. That does NOT make him a good general election candidate though. How is you do not understand this? I also agree with Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin, but they would not win a general election in the state of Virginia.

Jackson referred to gays and lesbians as “sick” and “perverted” people and compared homosexuality to pedophilia.

Jackson assailed Democrats for being “anti-God” and said Planned Parenthood “has been far, far more lethal to black lives than the KKK ever was.”

These comments, which I agree with, are general election losers (at least at this time) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Period. And Jackson is probably on record saying more controversial things than the Democrat party will know what to do with.

Screw you. $100 bucks to you you load mouth coward.

Insults and attempts at bullying is all you've got. Listen again you little worm, I am not someone who likes to gamble - especially when it forces me to bet against my own side. I'm willing to make an exception and bet you 25 bucks that Jackson loses. If it's not rich enough for your blood, go cry to someone else.

It's a long reach indeed. This is the kind of candidate you dream can win, but they usually can't. Firebrand type candidates with controversial backgrounds tend to struggle. Now add to that the fact that Virginia has 2 Dem Senators and elected Obama twice. As another poster said, Jackson is an Alan Keyes type candidate - and his electoral record is awful.

I am worried about Cooch letting the media make him comment on Jackson’s remarks instead of ‘Caulife’s.

They are going to try. The media is going to try to tie every controversial thing Jackson has said to Cuccinelli. This puts Cuccinelli in the position of having to distance himself or otherwise shoot down statements Jackson has said.

I hope the difficulty of his candidacy influences the conservatives and establishment in the RPV to work together with respect for each other in the future.

Let's hope so. The problem I see for Jackson is I don't see what he gains for our ticket. Cuccinelli was already going to be known more as a social conservative than he probably wanted to run on. Instead of balancing the ticket, we've now made it a 100% social conservative ticket in a state that isn't exactly trending in that direction.

” Blacks who choose to have abortions do so willingly. Blacks like Emmett Till who were tortured, lynched and murdered by the Ku Klux Klan had no say in their deaths. There is no comparison between the two and I don’t understand how a black Republican like Jackson could make such a comment.

Babies aborted have no say in their deaths.

(because Aneesh Chopra will almost certainly crush him),

You keep talking about Chopra as if he is the Dem candidate - he isn't, not yet anyway. He still has a primary to get through.

Personally, I would like to see Ralph Northam win the Dem primary because even my dog could beat him in a statewide primary - oh and I absolutely despise the cretin.
