JERUSALEM — Israel's Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon Tuesday signaled that his military is prepared to strike shipments of advanced Russian weapons to Syria, in a rare implied threat to Moscow.
Yaalon issued his warning shortly after a top Russian official said his government reserves the right to provide Syria with state-of-the-art S-300 air defense missiles.

Bibi better warn 0bama and McCain at the same time.
It take no backbone at all to paint a bulls-eye on your nation.
It does take backbone to work behind the scenes to trade something Russia wants so they won’t do this. There are other behind the scenes tactics they could deploy also.
All this does it tell Russia they need to up their military presence to protect the S300s, and essentially admit that if anything happens to the missiles, Israel was the one who did it.
I’m sure McCain has his inside men working against Netanyahu. They’ll keep him informed.
Yeah, like five minutes AFTER they destroy the missiles.
I think they’re telling Mother Russia to not use, ahem, Russian “technicians” to operate these devices, just in case so should get killed during the bombing.
This could wind up being a “hook in the jaw” otherwise.
It was the Tor-M1 protecting the Syrian-North Korean nuclear reactor I have read.
The S-300 is a significant upgrade well beyond that. Israel wants them to be certain that whoever winds up in power can’t be readying the SCUD’s with impunity.
This will not end well no matter how it goes, I think.
I respectfully disagree;
Israelis know where the weapons will end up.
They know to whom these weapons will be used against.
They have been at this a long time. They read the “tea leaves” better than you or I.
Is Israel on the side of the Rebels or are they simply trying to keep Syria from becoming proliferated with arms on either side?
“...Is Israel on the side of the Rebels ...”
I believe not. They most likely can predict the outcome. But either way, they do not want advanced weapons falling in the hands of wrong group.
I think the latter half of your questions is a good observation.
Up to this point Syria and Israel at least appeared at “peace”.
wish I had said it!
Thanks - noticed a little typo in my haste
just in case *some* should
If the Russians think they got their ass kicked in Afganistan, they will think they backed up into a buzz saw if they screw around with the Israelis. "NEVER AGAIN....NO BULLSHIT". And Odumbo golfs on.
It also lets Russia know the Israelis have no way to counter the S-300 once deployed. The EU/US dropping the weapons embargo and McCain sticking his nose into it, are only going to cause problems. Seems like the US leadership has one primary goal. Screw every nation state.
Im assuming these will be shipped by sea rather than air. I am sure that ship will look like swiss cheese and never make it to the harbor to unload.
If it is a Russian ship, I imagine Israel will wait until it is unloaded. They don’t specifically want to hit Russians, I don’t think.
Like when the IAF flew down to Sudan last year. They hit the weapons after they were unloaded from Iran’s shipping.
Amazingly, I only learned of it almost 24 hours later. Well, I didn’t have much news on the home TV and saw it only after checking into a hotel.
Yep, doesn’t look good. There’s a lot of connections in this, and that could come back to haunt us big-time. Thus Israel isn’t only determining it’s own policies here. It’s sucking a lot of other nations in with it, or against it.
KimTom, the problem is, we’re not just talking about Israel/Syria here.
We’re also talking about Russia and the United States, and the allies of each.
I don’t want Russia moving those S300s to Syria, but I also don’t want this escalated to the point that we have a major multi-nation confrontation on the plains of Megiddo either.
Take whatever action you feel you must Israel, but don’t telegraph your punch so publicly that Russia has no choice but to retaliate openly to save face.
You have to leave your enemy a way to save face. You take that option away, and you force that enemy to save face at your expense.
...every nation state + as long as they get in line behind him screwing our own.
Same story came from the AP yesterday. The thread has 180 replies, so might be of further interest.
Somehow, some lie will cause all nations to come against Israel at the end. Of course there are things that must occur prior to that day (of the Second Coming).
As you know (but for lurkers)
Revelation 16 and 19
I think they use independent carriers... Liberian flagged etc.

Likely this message has been delivered privately already, just makes it public in anticipation of strikes.
Thank you F15Eagle. I agree with you.
We all know evil will take place. It’s still our job to defeat the evil one at each of life’s opportunities.
In time, the end will come despite this. God will prevail. Praise Him.
I seriously doubt this story. NewsMax is about as trustworthy as Mad Magazine.
Israel and Russia have been negotiating deals to build pipelines for Israeli natural gas from the Tamar field for about three years.
Big bucks from Israeli and Russian jews are involved. Both the Israeli and Russian governments are prepared to kick in billions more.
Wow! A Yahoo connection. That makes the story even less credible.
Next, someone will post a Soros story.
Don’t have the stomach for a New American link.
It was an AP story.
Be wise, to discern truth

Putin is promoting Russian jobs.
Same for Japan-China, they take that saving face seriously.
“..Putin is promoting Russian jobs....”
If you can’t build cars, military is next choice.....
Yes they do.
