N.Y. Times will not attend DOJ session, citing opposition to off-the-record provision

New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson has announced that her paper will not attend an off-the-record session with Attorney General Eric Holder to discuss the Justice Department's monitoring of reporters, due to the fact that the meeting is to be conducted "off the record."

An excellent observation. If they have done nothing wrong, if Holder is proud to describe and defend the DoJs actions, why would this meeting need to be off the record?

I don’t believe that integrity has anything to do with it.

The media is in the administrations pocket. This is a “show” to lead us to believe differently.

The media wants us to trust them again, the administration needs us to trust the media, so why not set up a little tiff for us to enjoy?
