Syria: Obama talks no fly zones, Putin sends missiles

Just when the Obama administration finally starts talking about establishing a no-fly zone over Syria, Russia’s president Vladimir Putin sends the Assad regime the means to shoot U.S. planes down. There are competing strategies at work: “leading from behind” versus “up yours, America.”

Assad is a Russian ally and has told Obama many times that sending the rebels arms will only make the war grow.

It's a civil war...very different from Iraq or Afghanistan.

Kaddafhi also warned us about arming the rebels in their country. How'd that turn out?

Not in the hands of Hamas or Hezballah they aren't.

Israel has been launching cruise missiles and glide bombs from Lebanese territory. The no-fly would need to include Lebanon.

If the US flies planes over the very latest Russian interceptors we will lose planes. Flying over Syria is insane.
