11 WI GOP Assemblymen Voice Concerns, May Not Support Budget

With this in mind, we agree as a group that we cannot both represent our constituents and our conservative principles by supporting the budget in its current form. We in good conscience cannot support this budget unless the following issues are substantially addressed:

· Adoption of Rep. Dale Kooyenga’s tax reform package and serious reforms to the “Marriage Penalty” tax.

· Complete and total removal of the “DNA Collection Upon Arrest” proposal.

· An overall reduction of $500 million in bonding.

· Appropriations and tax reform done in a deficit neutral manner.

· Double dipping 2/3 FTE employee provision returns to the FTE employee definition as currently defined by the Department of Employee Trust Funds.

If you would like to discuss this matter further we would be happy to meet with you as a group and discuss our united concerns regarding this very important legislation.

While we appreciate the hard work that both of you and the JFC have put into this process, it is our sincere belief that these concerns at a minimum must be addressed to keep moving Wisconsin FORWARD

Wouldn’t this be Governor Walker’s budget? I don’t understand why they are going against the Governor.

As with all politicians eventually you go wobbly. His budget is crap. Lots of payola and does nothing on taxes. Taxes in this state are too damn high.

Has Walker been corrupted, or has these 11 got democratis, a disease.

That is a shame. I guess he decided to play with the Democrats. It is a shame.

I don’t think Walker has been corrupted. Knock on wood.

But he HAS been wrong on issues before and we like to let him know when he might be getting “snookered”

Walker is trying to walk the middle ground as he has an election coming up in 2014.

The eleven conservative members Republicans(including mine)are trying to demand a more conservative budget that spends less and returns more money to taxpayers. Walker is still conservative.

Republicans have control of the legislature and the Governor’s office, so now is the time to press conservative programs.

Forward Wisconsin!

I am very pleased with the core issues they have addressed, that in truth go way beyond the borders of their state, and should be seriously considered by other legislatures.

I agree with most (all but the DNA collection—which I support) of the proposed changes these 11 want. With there changes Wisconsin’s economy could bloom fuller.

I don’t agree with the DNA collection only because it is a slippery slope. If they collect it at time of arrest, why not when you are born, so it is on record?

I’d have no problem with infants having a DNA sample taken at birth. Most hospitals take the new born infants foot prints.

I was fingerprinted when I went into the Army and those fingerprints and my identity entered into a national database and I’ve had no problem with that. In recent years the military also takes material for DNA identity purposes and I have no problem with that.

Hell, I’d like to see biometric identity measures (e.g., fingerprints, iris scans) used to prevent the massive amount of Vote Fraud happening now (or at least be available to use to convict folks of Voter Fraud).

As for absentee voters, let their registration include their fingerprints. The absentee ballots can be designed in a fashion that allow the voter to affix a visible fingerprint (inside the return mail envelope) and that fingerprint image can be scanned upon receipt to verify identity.

IMHO identity verification, like the right to bear arms helps prevent crime and is a good thing.
