The family of a 33-year-old Michigan woman says the FBI had confirmed that she was killed in fighting in Syria.
She's identified as Nicole Lynn Mansfield of Flint.
David Speelman of Flint says he is Mansfield's cousin. He told The Associated Press that FBI agents visited family members Thursday and informed them of her death.

Speelman’s mother, Monica Mansfield Speelman, told the Detroit Free Press that her niece was a convert to Islam who married an Arab immigrant several years ago but later divorced him. The family was not happy about Mansfield’s conversion to Islam, said Monica Speelman and Mansfield’s grandmother, Carole Mansfield.
Nicole Mansfield was raised as a Baptist and her father was a General Motors production worker, the family said. She quit high school after becoming pregnant but later earned her GED, attended community college and worked in home health care for 10 years, they said.
Was she a “devout” convert?

Why exactly would the US FBI be involved in her death or informing her family about it? Clearly if any agency is advertising they need a budget cut, this is it.

And she ends up dead meat-—well deserving of Honorable Mention in the Darwin Awards. Sorry if anyone is offended by this but it’s the truth, so deal with it.
Mansfield’s aunt, Monica Speelman, told the Free Press that Mansfield had married an Arab immigrant several years ago, converting to Islam in the process. Three years ago, after the husband was able to secure a green card. the couple divorced. Speelman said the family never knew the husband’s name. The family lost touch with Mansfield shortly after the divorce and didn’t know she was in Syria.
“I’m sick over it,” Speelman said of her niece’s death. “I didn’t think she was (a terrorist), but God only knows.”
Speelman also said Mansfield was survived by an 18-year-old daughter.
Well......at least she has ended a lengthy streak of really bad decisions.
So does she get 74 male or female virgins?
