Hope the crew is issued lead jock straps for their cruise.
Nice to see Russia acting like a great power again. They may know a few things we do not—conflict is coming and a lot of chips are on the table. We should be re-arming and NOT cutting back. The world is still a dangerous place. the Russians are playing the great game—the international chess game of power and politics. We better be ready for we are in for a wild ride.
While we stand down.
Let’s look at the hope and change thing again;
1) The USSR is back under another name
2) Iran is closer to having nukes
3) North Korea is ... ok still claiming to be close to or have nukes.
4) We surrendered on the war on terror.
Nice job Berry!
We've commissioned 9 attack submarines in the last decade and are about to commission another this summer. This rate will increase to 2 per year in the next few years.
In the last decade, the Russians have commissioned..zero attack submarines.
The next attack submarine they commission, Severodvinsk, either this year or next year (it keeps getting delayed) will have been under construction for 20, yes 20 years.
'I'll see your attack sub with no home port...'
"In addition, Russia is planning to procure ten Graney-class nuclear attack submarines, as well as 20 diesel-electric submarines and six Varshavyanka-class vessels."
From a strategy viewpoint, what do you think of Russia fast tracking Nuclear Balistic submarines? At 16 launch vehicles each, we are looking at over 30 US cities gone, assuming that they do not bother to MIRV.
We disarmed for peace, and they fast tracked first strike weaponry. Interesting, seems our leadership is as brilliant as a turd in the punch bowl.
