Erase Every Law From Every Book
self | June 3, 2013 | knarf

Posted on 06/03/2013 6:36:55 AM PDT by knarf

I've concluded we can't fix America.

TOPICS: Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: constitution; law; opinion; vanity
We'll have to start from the beginning.

What prompted this mad thought was my contemplating the simplicity of Norman Rockwell illustrations and the question; "How could we get back to that?",
and I concluded ... we can't ... not as all laws are written today.

What was a 9 - 5 job, sufficient to care for a family AND have a vacation in the 50's just can't exist today with all the laws and wherefores that prevent factories from being built and or operated to produce a product and pay a man, not to keep the snail darter alive.

Well .. as you can guess ... once that thought train left the station, it cranked up full tilt boogie and quite frankly, I'm not sure there CAN be a solution.

All I know is;

Things that once were, and were operating very nicely, now no longer are.

So I propose some bill that vacates every law ever passed and we start from the beginning.
I figure, socialists get away with what they get away with because there is some hint of a precedent to springboard off of, and if the board was not thewre, or the pool was empty ... maybe ... just maybe, some adults could use the framework of the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights and we could have a sane nation again

OK ... Good Morning All

Bigger problem is regulations that aren’t voted on but still have weight of law.
Thousands of pages were added to Obamacare AFTER it was passed. how is that legal?

The WSJ this morning reports that Americans no longer take risks for jobs or business.

Why take risks to improve your situation when you will be certainly be punished?

At the federal level ... yeah, burn the lawbooks.

States have their own laws governing damn near everything. Murder, robbery, tax evasion, etc. The Several States are called “sovereign” for a reason.

The brutalizing rules and regulations are coming mostly from the federal level, not the state level (for the most part). One can ALMOST see a need for the EPA to cover pollution that crosses state lines ... but state laws would address the same problem.

I think, as far as the EPA is concerned, that we could build and produce with some more common sense than in the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s .. etc., when it didn’t seem to bother Pittsburghers they were breathing orange air.

We'll have to start from the beginning.

Well... here's where it all started.

I agree.

All that we need of government can be written on few pages of laws , 10 at most.

We now have all the information ever created at our fingertips( Google , the Internet) . The free market is producing Any product that poeople may need to live their lives. Funny how Humans survived with only sticks and stones for thousands of years but now we need a 4 trillion per year government full of thousands of tyrannical gov agencies like the IRS, EPA , DHS etc.

America grew standards of living for the first 200 years on this continent with practially NO government at all . And this was when technology was far less advanced, now technology in the private sector is growing at an exponential rate and we can't use that tech , those products and our choice to decide what products help us live our lives they way we want to? yes we can and we don't need an IRS or EPA to burden and oppress us. funny how the USA survived without the IRS for hundreds of years, ditto for the EPA and thousands of laws and agencies they have heaped upon us.

and they create fake crisis to justify their stupid government. trilloins of $ the IRS took from businesses to fund fake global warming research to fund a hoax. jsame for “pollution,” “adam lanza” ,”people lacking healthcare”, tornadoes whatever they come up with as fake crises that they need to protect us from.

A lack of planning on your part democrats, does not constitute an emergency on my part. so take care of yourself and your family (in need) and leave us alone.

it's all fake crisis. we don't need government for anything except military and border control .,

The Jefferson Solution. Every law expires after 19 years. EVERY law. Only ONE law per Bill. Must reference the specific Article 1 Sec 8 power in order to pass.

Failing that, we’ll go the way of Rome.

My solution - abolish all strains of socialism. Just the very thought will will keep them totally busy for years to come.

I’ve concluded we can’t fix America either. That’s why I want Texas to secede. A large right-thinking population base to start over with the framework of the US Constitution and set up a country along the lines of what we ought to be not to the Federal nightmare we have become.

The “Original Ten” covered everything.

That isn't the Ten Commandments. It is a representation of the Code of Hammurabi.

That’s a great solution. government (laws) are the problem.Sunset laws , expire them after a few years, 4 at the most (1 session of congress). Let each congress justify that we really do need that law.that way Obamcare and the 1965 immigration act would go away.

It also gives Congress a reason to exist. By my estimation, the last “legitimate” law was passed in 1851.

I never thought of it as anarchy.

Anarchy sounds like revolution in the street.

Some men with balls could propose this and let the media scream and foam ... the word would get out and people would call their congresscritter.

'Course if it happened in a zero administration, HE'D bring the blood in the streets

The “Original Ten” covered everything.

Well, they weren't original. The Code of Hammurabi pre-dated them, and the Code of Hammurabi wasn't even THE original source.

I’ve thought for a long time we need to require a simple little citizens test for the right to vote:

1. Who was president the year you were born.

2. How many senators in the Senate.

3. In what city is the capital of the U.S.

4. Name the states surrounding the one you reside in.

If they don’t know at least a little bit about our country they shouldn’t be voting.

5. What holiday celebrates America’s birthday.

6. How often do we elect a president.
