FORT MEADE, Md. -- Pfc. Bradley Manning went on trial Monday for leaking hundreds of thousands of classified documents to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks, including sensitive information prosecutors said fell into enemy hands.
Manning, a 25-year-old former intelligence analyst from Oklahoma, has admitted to giving troves of information to WikiLeaks, but military prosecutors want to prove Manning he aided the enemy, which carries a potential life sentence. They said they will present evidence that former al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden asked for and received information WikiLeaks published.
"This is a case of about what happens when arrogance meets access to sensitive information," Capt. Joe Morrow said.....

I'm ashamed that he was in the same Army I was in, much less the same military occupational specialty.

Manning should hang. But so should those who gave him a security clearance, and those who set up the system so someone in his position had access to so much information.

That little creep needs to be the guinea pig for any not yet tested means of....making the enemy “uncomfortable”.
I thought that no one could out sleaze the Obamadork, but this little piece of excrement most certainly does it.

Take him out of solitary and put him in general population ( certain wings maybe) at Leavenworth. Problem solved without all the assorted BS in a rather expedited fashion.

We can guess the answer.
Why, whether it's IRS harassment, free speech, divulging sources under oath, is the press treated differently than your average patriotic citizen?
IMO, the corrupt media is far more dangerous to America than any democrat or islamist, and We the People should act accordingly.

Assange has been under effective house arrest for a year now, in the apartment that serves as Ecuador's embassy.
If that apartment is rented, the UK government should simply offer the landlord double the price when the lease comes up and take Assange into custody when the apartment ceases to be Ecuadorean soil.
That would be the most efficient way to capture him.

He deserves a nice spot at Gitmo. Hope that’s where he winds up.

As long as Gillard is in power, that would cause diplomatic problems with Australia.
Few in Australia would object if he were tried in US federal court for espionage, however.
To: F15Eagle
Then the US Taxpayers wind-up paying $600,00 - $900,000/yr to keep him alive, likke we now do with that murderous, subhuman, muslim troglodyte filth. Better to execute him for 60¢, and I'll donate the .45cal ACP 230gr HP.

Isn’t it something that the prosecutor, the media and everyone else involved in this case act as if this PFC was a lone wolf in all this.
If they don’t root out who helped him, this problem will not go away.

He deserves life imprisonment, at the very least. However, what were his superiors doing? Why wasn't anyone paying attention to his activities? There are more people than just Manning who need to face a court martial.

Thanks for the ping.
I wanted to throw up last night when FOX 45 in Baltimore did a piece on the faggots protesting at Ft. Meade about this little punk’s imprisonment.

Manning was a communications specialist - he "rode the wire", which meant that he could copy sensitive information locally and put it onto a CD, which is what he claims to have done. Lots of message traffic, more than 250,000 pieces IIRC although it could be more by now.
His defense is twofold: first, that the information revealed a coverup of a helicopter firing on civilians, and second, that the vast majority of the information is low-level and placed no one in any danger. The latter is common in this sort of case; however, it isn't how intelligence works. Accumulation of enough low-level information can paint a picture that otherwise would be highly classified, including movements of assets, manning, operations planning schedules, etc, etc.
Personally I think Manning is toast. You don't actually have to prove that anyone was killed because of this sort of spying, only that it took place. And that much is pretty much a lock as far as I have seen. The usual disclaimers - I am not an attorney but I did deal with classified information for a lot of years. The rules are crystal clear.
