Veteran journalist Geraldo Rivera said Monday he’d “take the call” if New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wanted to appoint him to New Jersey’s vacant U.S. Senate seat, but acknowledged the chances of that seem slim.
“I would definitely take the call,” Rivera said on the “Geraldo Rivera Radio Show.”

Name a middle aged, strong populist democrat to the seat - that screws over Cory Booker’s ambitions for the Senate in the near future, and it’s too late for Booker to run for Gov in 2013.
Cut Booker off at the knees now. Otherwise that jackass will be president someday.

Since he fancies himself an unofficial candidate for the senate and never shuts up about it I think he should resign from Fox or, at the least, he should be trash-canned by the Fox powers-that-be..
There's no doubt in my mind that his lust for the senate is coloring his commentaries on Fox and will continue to do so.
Conflict of interest!
He would not be missed!

The Democrats will insist that Christie should name a Dem to replace Lautenberg, and will raise all kinds of hell if he doesn’t. That being the case, Christie should name a black conservative Republican, and let the Dems alienate black voters in NJ when they demonize Christie’s appointee.
