Since burning is by law legal, he can’t be touched.

Do you mean properly retiring a flag by burning it according to the Flag Code, or protesting by burning a flag as allowed by the Supreme Court?

It's the only way people will understand the distinction I'm making . . . .

I hope that most of your anger that is being placed on display in this thread is being directed at the root cause, and not some side note.

I removed my flag when Obama was elected.

20 foot pole and all.

When, and if, we elect someone who doesn’t hate this country and white people , I will erect a bigger and better one.

Americans need to wake up. The man is doing more than writing a letter to the editor, or posting on Internet that “Obama must be impeached” and similar nonsense (such as the first sentence above), that many would advise him to do. Good for him.

I have a 48 star flag that my Father bought in 1941 (I believe around 12/10-15/41). He mounted it on a 1 1/2” staff he hand worked, with a draw knife, from a piece of lumber. It was first flown in our church through out WW2 and Korean War. after that I took pocession and returned it to our family. It was flown on all National Holidays until 2008 at which time I returned it to it’s case and will not fly it again. Sometime soon, I will have a select group of Veterans properly burn it. The mate to this flag was the Christian flag, which my Maternal Grandmother bought, to stand with the 48 star flag. It is still at my parents church.
I will be purchasing a Gadsden Flag soon! To mount on the staff my father made in 1941, when I was just a 6 year old boy.

GOD BLESS THE USA!

Not historically, currently.

US Code:T36 Ch10.176

(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

Historically since 1942.

Since the '12 election I have refused to fly the flag because I equate that to support for the current regime and its goals

Same here, only mine came down in Nov '08.

Only time it goes up is for Memorial Day, and it comes down at dark.

I think I’ll go turn my flag upsidedown, too.

Thank you for posting the relevant section, I was afraid I might have to at some point. Still don’t see the “look at me, I’m making a political statement” exception.

Same here. Mine hasn’t flown for just over four years.
I’m not going to pretend everything’s OK. Good on him!

I've been flying my flag upside down since 2008 and nobody's even noticed.

Historically, flying the US flag upside down was a sign of distress.

Well, that's the condition our country is in, with 0dumb0 & the socialist demoRATs. I think we should all start flying our U.S. flags upside down!

but some of his neighbors aren’t happy with the display.

Many not happy when it is in an upright position either.

flying the flag upside down can also be a military tactic to inform incoming personnel of an infiltration

I have no problem flyng it upside down if need be, as it does no permanent damage to the flag. burning is a different story

The flag has been ordered to be at half staff under this administration more than any other I can remember. I am torn between keeping it at full staff all the time, or leaving it down at half staff all the time to demonstrate that I am mourning the last two elections. When the declaration was made to put it down at half staff for Sandy Hook but not for the incredible loss of Chris Kyle, my eyes were opened to the fact that the orders are coming based on his wants not the people’s.
