I’ve read that only the first 20,000 stings actually hurt.

poor guy

Leonard Nimoy told me back in the 70’s this was going to happen.

What they don’t tell you about the killer bees is that they are Islamicized, not Africanized. CAIR got all over this right from the beginning.

It's hard to get away from them, especially if they are zeroing in on the CO2 we exhale to seek and track us.

Fwiw, yellow jackets leave a pheromone marker behind when they sting to tag the threat for the nest to attack.

During my trials and tribulation period, I disturbed an underground nest while mowing and had several sting me on the same spot, one after another. Allergy sufferers beware.

Back in the late 1960s or early 1970s scientists were saying that by the time the African bees reached the US they would have been so genetically altered by mixing with docile bees that they would be virtually harmless.

How did it work out for us?

I remember hearing about this in the 1980s. Stupid entomologists in Brazil let them fly free and here they are now. Only way to destroy them is with fire or really powerful chemicals. Smoke does not pacify them if they’re agitated.

Clearly these were bees of peace and we must seek out the root cause of why they hate us....

Condolences. I can think of worse ways to go out, but not many.

Fact is, scientists are wrong 87.3% of the time. You can believe me on this -- I'm a scientist.

Plain water will little dissuade determined bees. Their breathing apparatus is coated with a waterproof wax. However the wax is not detergent proof and detergent suds will kill the bees.

So, you're saying we shouldn't go near the bees. But if you're right 16.7% of the time, you might be wrong now, then perhaps the bees are safe. (Reminds me of Little Big Man/Dustin Hoffman telling Gen. Custer he will die if he goes to fight the Indians, and Custer getting twisted up trying to figure what is true. Scientists get me so confused!)

When I first heard about the Africanized bees coming to the U. S., it concerned me a great deal.

To tell the truth, it hasn’t been as bad as I had first thought it would be. I thought we’d have these sorts of things happen much more often than we do.

Perhaps they have moderated a bit. This guy sure found a virulent batch though didn’t he.

Sad to see a guy go like that.

Honey bees also leave a pheromone marker. One says “help me, I’m hurt” and another says “sting here”. One is close enough to a banana smell and the other is similar to nail polish remover. Cruel beekeepers would give their new assistants a banana just to watch the fun. When working bees it is important not to smash one to avoid the first marker. And if you’ve been nailed once while working a hive, chances are you’ll be stung several times.

Regular honey bees will give up after chasing you a few yards, the Africanized bees will chase you much farther, which is what makes them so dangerous. The Africanized bees produce more honey, which is why they were being studied in Brazil. A visiting beekeeper removed the queen excluders from the hives which allowed the Africanized queens to escape into the wild.
