Good morning!

Something curious I found while making my news rounds. I recall the incident a few weeks ago. Didn't think much of it until this blog post.

On May 23rd at 07:10, a Nippon Cargo Boeing 747-8F en route from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York to Tokyo with a fuel stop in Anchorage declared an emergency after an indicator in the cockpit showed that there may be a fire in the lower cargo hold.

(The only other time 747's landed at this airport in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory was after the attacks on 9/11/2001 when all flights were grounded.)

As was the situation in 2001, there’s more to this story than what’s been officially reported. In this case, it appeared to some of us who had been watching the event unfold that some of the Nippon cargo was still here after the plane left. I’ve heard no explanation for that.

It's probably nothing but it seems that some cargo may have been suspicious looking and was left behind. I'm looking for more info later today.

There's a bit more info Here - Explore North

BTW Murray takes some great pictures!

Yes, interesting. Why leave cargo after an unexpected emergency landing? Please do keep us informed of anything else you hear about that!

And, yes, Murray takes great pictures! Bookmarking the website!

44.1 here. Poor tropical hibiscus! Didn't bring it in...might as well leave it out so it gets some morning sun.

It had a couple of blooms and lots of buds when we got it but they've all dropped. It was starting to recover and getting new buds but now?????

Maybe I can find a good hibiscus fertilizer at our local garden store.

And yes sneakers, I was having trouble so I switched to my table radio which is also unreliable because of our location behind a huge hill.

Here's hoping the IRS scandal goes NUCLEAR!

Our internet radio problems are probably related to our Comcastic non service! Even the cable TV has started to pixelate again. Comcast probably overloaded our node again.

Nope, even though wew were told we could when we moved in and the FIOS website says it’s available. Oldest son has it and says it’s great.

I’ll have to check again.

I’m not too sure about the HS graduation, caller a daughter got kicked out, story. It doesn’t sound “right.” And NBC affiliate reported on it? Was I SW pa? Wpxi? Something just wasn’t passing da smell test.

Now—hinky doings out here in Westmorelnad County? THAT I can believe!!!

Brrrrr....cold. Gotta car pool:(

Found the story of the girl who wasn't allowed to walk with her graduation class.

Here it is from Columbus OH

There's a bit more than what the caller said but it's still curious.

Need more research to understand the entire thing but gut reaction is the school could be in trouble as Jim said.

Good morning!

Quinn’s talking about gov databases & amassing info via healthcare questionnaires (he was reading the email from the guy whose wife was seeing the dr for a Pap smear). My question is where is all the data going from those grocery store cards? Years ago when giant eagle rolled out their advantage card in the 90s, a friend I mine refused to sign up for one, saying it was no one’s business what kind of toilet paper she used. At the time I thought she was nuts but now I’m not so sure. Is that info that can be used against you??

It sounds like the school only permits the cords/medallions that the District itself gives out. The additional cords this girl earned were from an “honors” society that she joined. So I can actually see the SD’s ppv that allowing “outside” honors/organizations could open the the flood gates to all kinds of extras being added to the cap & gown dress.

Our SD has a dress code (still fresh in my mind as I had one graduate last year). Girls white or light colored dress (no jeans/shorts/pants; tee shirts; writing on garment) a d boys shirt/tie dress pants. No sports shoes or flip flops.

Yes that’s what I came away with as well. It seems to me my class...so long ago...was allowed to wesr things like boy scout awards, future military related things, and the like. Underneath the robes we wore anything we wanted.

I didn’t stick around afterwards tp talk wiith everyone. I ran as fast as i could and while some were crying I had my robe off, jumped in my convretable Mustang and peeled out. I was so happy to get out of school!

BTW isn’t the idea of caps and gowns to make everyone appear equal?

Affirmative on the “uniformity” of the look of the graduating class.

I’ve learned to trust my instincts with the actions of fellow parentals. With my fifth kid in HS I’ve seen/heard ALOT over the years. Sometimes, some parents (those with an agenda or just living vicariously thru their offspring) and cannot fathom that their little snow flake isn’t “most special” to all.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to put the correct numbers on the XM station tomorrow. Turns out the sound went out on my laptop. I refuse to buy a new one. I’m going to hook up my old XP upstairs or I’ll listen on my tablet.
