“Gutless?” Not from the pictures I’ve seen!

Actually, that's not a gut that he's full of, it's crap.

To all those posters that spent months/years promoting Christie as God’s gift to the Republican Party....”Get stuffed!”

EXACTLY what he did. He just handed the seat to the Dems so he can keep his Gov seat.

I really wanted Christie to seat a conservative until 2014. I knew that couldn't happen though.

The NJ supreme court wouldn't allow that.
I watched how they respected the law when they allowed lautenberg to be slipped into torrecelli's spot.

The amount of money it's going to cost the taxpayers in NJ could've been spent on re-building.
Somebody thinks they have an endless supply of taxpayer dollars to spend don't they?

This is bullshit.

So now I'm waiting to see who he's going to seat for a lousy five months...

Meh. I expect him to switch any day now. This was a real golden opportunity to steal a seat from the Dems. Thanks Gov! *heavy heavy sigh*

You absolutely, 100%, nailed it. I can’t say I am surprised, but I can say I’m upset. The best part of this debacle? No way Christie will EVER be the GOP nominee for POTUS.

I doubt that. Not enough time for that interim appt to do anything. And Christie is popular for SURE. But N.J. is deep blue. No way Christie has coattails. Any GOPer will need to stand on his own and NO time to do that.

” This was a real golden opportunity to steal a seat from the Dems”

It certainly was.

Hey guys, I think you’re missing out on something. The Republicans in New Jersey think they could pick up one or both houses of the state legislature.

While the Democrats control the state legislature, the Congressional delegation is split 6 to 6. The Republicans in New Jersey have the advantage in being spread out, having more 65 to 60 percent type majorities, as opposed to 80 to 90 percent type majorities.

So, by looking out for #1, himself, by divorcing the Senate race from the Gubernatorial race, the rotund one is also looking out for the party’s chances in the state legislature.

And to think that this fat, stupid POS thinks he could ever be considered Presidential material outside of the state of NJ!

He very well could be the nominee, as long as crossover voting and the conservative circular firing squad method of primary selection continue.

By doing this Christie helps the democrats maintain the seat.

I see the point your trying to make but I think your giving Christie too much credit. The presence of Booker would have far more reaching consequences in the statewide election than the individual districts. The presence of Booker would primarily add to the Dem pluralities in the Dem districts. I honestly don’t see the NJ GOP winning the legislature either way.

I just heard that Christie said the law prohibits the special being held on this year’s general election day. Several commentators have said the N.J. law isn’t very clear. Whoever wrote this law was too smart by half. Maybe it was one of those committee things.

The Republicans didn’t make any inroads in 2009 or 2011 (and they were hopeful those years). So, we will see about picking up seats this time. The Republicans are not as pathetic in this state as in some others. They had a Republican state legislature from 1994 to 2001, and have done o.k. regarding Governor.
