Not only did former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta leak the name of the Navy SEAL group responsible for the killing of Osama Bin Laden in 2011, but the release of the Pentagon Inspector General’s (IG) report revealing the incident, which was ready in July 2012, was delayed until now.
In the spring of 2012, GOP members accused Barack Obama’s administration of leaking national security secrets to help Obama get reelected, but the administration denied it.
At a CIA awards ceremony on June 24, 2011, Panetta named the SEAL group and its commander. Among those present were 1300 military and intelligence employees, as well as Zero Dark Thirty filmmaker Mark Boal. The IG report also stated that Panetta revealed classified information designated as “top secret” and “secret.”
Panetta served as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency until July 1, 2011, when he took over the office of the Secretary of Defense for the retiring Robert Gates. Panetta was in charge of the Department of Defense when the DOD's IG investigation into leaks about the bin Laden raid was being conducted.

Had I done this as an E-2 in the Navy, I’d have been sent to prison. It was made very clear to me.
Oh, they know. The problem with Rosen is that was going to tell that he got the leaks from them.

I never knew any of these men-Seal Team 6- but I miss them.
I don’t sleep as well at night without them in the world fighting for my right to just exist.
If I was taken off the planet tomorrow, while some would miss me terribly, it would not be a great loss. But these men were so special and certainly not replaceable; I don’t know their names or their faces or even their individual skills, but I DO know that they were the best of the best and loved America so much that each day they put their lives on the line not only for people like me, but also for people who detest true Americans (the Michael Moores of the world et al) while taking all that they can and enjoying all America has to offer,and if given the chance would probably spit on their graves...
It’s a strange feeling to miss those that you don’t even know, but they were a symbol of everything that is RIGHT in America and those symbols are dwindling daily...what a tremendous loss on so many levels....God Bless their families; they are just as brave as the fallen.

Leaks, telling where the Israeli missile site is, Pimping on the Doctor who found Bin Laden, Missile Defense secrets to Russia, Gave British Nuclear secrets to Russia. Started the Middle east Arab Spring. Muslims in the White House, a Traitor as Secretary of State.

Maybe we should ask Holder to ask Panetta to investigate Panetta and report back to Holder. That should slow things up until the IRS/Benghazi/Susan Rice/Video/Hillary/etc.. scandals subside.
Wonderful post. You express many of the same feelings I have. I feel the same way about Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. Like many, I expect, I tear up every time I think about how they died on the roof of that compound, painting laser targets for air support that never came, their machine guns covered in their own blood.

Exactly. Meanwhile, Scooter Libby and Nakoula (the maker of the anti-Islamic youtube video that had nothing to do with Benghazi) are probably sharing a prison cell.

The leak endangered the Pakistani doctor who aided us in locating Ben Laden. He is now languishing in a Pakistani prison.
This is a leak that provided info on our agent and will probably prevent other sources from helping us in the future since they can’t rely on us keeping their secret.
Holder will no doubt pursue Panetta under the Espionage Act.
Imagine that...a SecDef that disarmed Marines...no way...no way...no...way...
I’m not surprised; they were very special men in so many ways and were symbolic of what made (and I hope continues to make) America great...
Yes-I do cry for them and pray for their families every time I think of them....for some reason, they have really touched my heart—they all trusted their govt and turned over their lives to them (the painting of that target was a sign of trust and so very very sad)-and after years of service and sacrifice (of which I can only imagine)that trust was broken -IMHO the downing of Team 6 was no accident-
-they were aborted, plain and simple.
And to complete the horror, they were mocked at hearings and even their own funeral—they deserved much better from their govt...it just breaks my heart...
