Harry Reid says immigration bill on floor next week

The Senate will begin considering the landmark immigration reform bill next week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday morning.

“Even if we we’ve not completed action on the farm bill or the student loans proposals, we’re going to bring immigration to the floor next week. Immigration is broken, it needs to be fixed,” Reid said in his opening remarks Tuesday.

Reid said it’s his understanding that Minority Leader Mitch McConnell won’t oppose bringing the immigration bill to the floor, and Reid said he is “grateful” to his Republican colleague.

In his opening remarks, McConnell did not mention the immigration bill.

They’re trying to preempt Rubio bailing. Rubio needs to bail TOMORROW or FRIDAY or else this bill will be passed. Keep calling and emailing your Senators.

Republicans are craven cowards.

Reid and his ilk are simply assholes.

Good. People can walk through the barnyard and then wipe their feet on it. That’s more respect than it deserves.

With Reid and Boner running the show, you never know what you will get for an encore or even a main act.

Now that the bill is safely on its way of course Rubio's putting the word out he 'wants out' of the Gang of Eight.

No doubt he'll ramp up his appearances on Hannity, mouthing conservative platitudes or expressing outrage at Obama's scandals, hoping to placate those who put him in office.

He thinks we're that stupid. I despise him and those like him as much as I despise Obama.

This is all theater. The real amnesty bill vote won’t be for months. And Rubio will vote for amnesty then. You can take that to the bank.

What is broken is our Executive branch that refuses to enforce our current immigration laws, but instead is ignoring them in favor of getting minority votes.
New laws won’t change that, but the voters can change the executive branch.

All this does is get Republicans in the senate on the record voting No and it would die in the House anyway.

This is just a ploy to make 2014 campaign ads on.

The dumbass R's in that ‘gaggle of 8’ gave the RATS a club to beat us over the head with.

No, I believe it is for real this time. Senate Dems will pass this bill. The House will pass something and they will combine the bills in conference. Then Boehner will allow a floor and the Dems will pass it.

Barry will sign it and Boehner will retire with a huge nest egg from his PAC war chest. Game, Set, Match. Adios America, it was good knowing you.

That’s not good enough—we can’t afford 30 million new, lawbreaking voters from Mexico.

This could be even more entertaining than their recent gun-grab fail.
We should start a pool on what precise shade of purple Zero’s pie-hole turns when he’s sputtering in the Rose Garden, after they come up short again.
I got dibs on heliotrope!

I dunno. I will agree that Rubio thought that this circus he got himself into was a good idea at first (trusting Democrats to “compromise”) but I think he’s learned a lot in the last few months. I would not be surprise if he comes forth and nukes this bill with some very hefty criticism while Lindsey and McCain poop themselves.

At least I’m hoping that will happen.

Your analysis is way off the mark.
