Cape Verde (Africa) tropical storms get cranked up in August & September. Outside chance for them in July & October.
Yeah, but it’s coming to my house on Friday.
Um...we had a t-storm yesterday with 40mph winds...
Seems a little light to have named it...
Just sayin...
Did your t-storm have 40mph winds extending 140 miles from the storm center? Just askin...
“I can remember when nearly every tropical storm system would originate near the coast of Africa”
The Gulf warmed up first - don’t worry, those from Africa will be along later and be packed with energy.
And once early Andrea ‘clears a path’ for FL... others will tend to follow.
We in centex desperately needed that storm. There’s still maybe something cooking in the EPAC that might send us more moisture plumes, if not a jumper that comes to us.
YEA!!!!
NAUTI NURSE TO THE RESCUE!
when it comes to dangerous whether—living in Jax, FL—my Go-TO weatherman is yoouuuu!!!!!!!

It is. NN is our resident cyclone girl.
She’s also a great gardener. Ask her about her avocadoes sometime.
LOL—bananas too! Lots of bananas...
By the very maps posted, Saturday off New England. Front moving across the Appalachian mountains will pick it up.
Darn...when they said “Andrea was coming to FL”.....I thought it was gonna be the Andrea from The Five
Here’s a website with origins of hurricanes the past 60 yrs or so shown by 10 day intervals.

It has to go somewhere, just be glad it’s not a hurricane. Now, if a hurricane develops, I hope you get that, too, and not me. I’m sure you would rather I get the hurricane. Since neither of us can turn one, we’ll just have to wish each other the best of luck.
But Pat Robertson can.
(/ducking)
I hope you get that, too, and not me.

Then it’s so.
(About a week before Katrina’s landfall he said, “If you live in NOLA, run for your lives.”)
Well, there goes the weekend cruise...in the Corvette. Staying in the garage.
1100 years ago the incident of category five hurricanes along the Gulf Coast was much higher. No-one knows why they decreased then and remain so to this day.
What artifacts did they use to arrive at this conclusion? What strata?
