NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Metro police are teaming up with "Mapco" to host their Giftcards for Guns exchange program in an effort to keep Nashville families safe.
Nashvillians can drop off firearms at St. Luke's Church on Lewis Street on Saturday in exchange for $25 giftcards.
Chief Steve Anderson said it is a good time to host the buyback, as Metro schools are out for summer break.
P.S. This area is directly next to the housing projects so it would be a good idea to openly carry your firearm if you have a carry permit.
The buyback will occur 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Luke Primitive Baptist Church, 135 Lewis St., in Nashville.
Often these are aimed at widow women whose husbands left a firearm in the house, and the widow does not know the value of the firearm.
A few years ago a friend of mine bought a COLT .32 cal auto in perfect shape at a garage sale. The woman only wanted what her husband paid for it back in the 1930s. He got it for $15.00.
They are only offering $25 so the majority of guns will be junk Lorcins or Ravens, or rusty old cheap shotguns. There will be a few from the little old ladies, though.
Geeze! A guy with a handful of $50’s and armed support, would make a killing! Buying guns that is!
I wonder if I could get a gift card for a gun store?
P.S> Love your FReep page. I got a kick out of hte cat in the gras catcher.
$25? Talk to me when you’re offering real money.
I agree, the majority of guns traded for a $25 gift card aren’t worth much more than that.
Oh, I added "banglist" to the keywords.
