The WSJ article in question:

The National Security Agency's monitoring of Americans includes customer records from the three major phone networks as well as emails and Web searches, and the agency also has cataloged credit-card transactions, said people familiar with the agency's activities.

The disclosure this week of an order by a secret U.S. court for Verizon Communications Inc.'s phone records set off the latest public discussion of the program. But people familiar with the NSA's operations said the initiative also encompasses phone-call data from AT&T Inc. and Sprint Nextel Corp., records from Internet-service providers and purchase information from credit-card providers.

And soon to have medical records, all student loan information. Zbigniew Brzezinski wrote a book about how a few elite with control the masses by monitoring them with technology.

One more reason not to buy ammo online—if you can find it.

Phone calls (land & mobile), faxes, cc purchases, texting, email etc... everything you do/say electronically is being vacuumed-up by the NSA’s facility in Bluffdale, UT.

It’s been going on for a long time; get used to it, citizen!

Yet with all this info, they could not stop the Boston bombers - with a tip from the Russians.

Techo-idiocy, above and beyond the appalling Constitutional issues here.

Oh crap, I’ve bought a LOT of ammo online, since 2002. Oh well, so be it.

This is news? Just with credit check requests, this kind of data comes up. Everything you even browse online is tallied. The targeted ads for something I look at online follows me constantly.

My thing is those dang affinity cards. If you use one of them, even without using a credit card, there's a complete record of your purchases. I don't use one in a local grocery store that has one, thus shopping there as seldom as possible (I can't get their sales). Now they have another big brother policy....you can't use their self-checkout unless you use an affinity card! So, even with using cash, everything a person purchases is somebody's business.

We really don't have any privacy left. I can't imagine how freedom is even possible without individual responsibiity, enforced and reasonable laws, and freedom to move and think.

Since when was catching terrorists the goal?

They couldn’t stop the underwear bomber when his own father warned us.

The father of the American woman killed in Syria also claims he called the FBI to tell them about her scam marriage, radicalization, and tried to have her passport taken away. Thank God she chose to die there rather than here.

If they were really interested in protecting us they would seal our borders and pick and choose who comes in. If they can watch all of us they can damn sure protect our borders.

If only the Russians had called them on Verizon (sarcasm).

If the feds wanted to stop these terrorist acts the first thing they'd do is not let terrorist wannabees in the US from Chechnya and such.

The question needs to be presented, so that those who are not paying close enough attention realize what is going on.

TRILLIONS spent, a massive police state created...all because we refuse to simply stop importing Muslims into America.

When I heard some of the details about that case, I thought to myself that if I was training a new hire on how to find a potential terrorist using a database, I would give parameters similar to the underwear bomber. He was basically walking around with a sign on his chest proclaiming his intentions.

And then I heard John Brennan on a radio interview saying how hard it was to find someone like him, and I thought to myself, Cripes, a good marketing database person could find someone like that in minutes. What frickin' good are you? And that idiot is now in charge of the CIA.

True, cost is another issue.

God knows how much it costs to run this constitution shredder.

Unfortunately I don’t realize just how many dangerous people we’ve deliberately imported for years.

We brought in thousands of Iraqi defectors from the first gulf war. Lord only knows how many Somalis we’ve brought in. I dated a Serbian sociologist who told me that she had interviewed dozens of war criminals from the Balkan mess who were in American prisons and walking free. There must be hundreds of thousands here on student visas.
