The Schools' Sinister War on Guns

The obvious answer here is that the last two decades' school shootings and our civilization's general moral decline have changed the equation. But while this would explain the desire to keep students with real firearms off school grounds, there is no logical reason to apply this to toy guns. Saying otherwise is like claiming that because you wouldn't trust an 11-year-old to drive the family car to school, you won't let him bring toy cars with him, either; or that he won't be allowed to possess toy airplanes because he isn't ready to pilot a 747 for Delta. The same applies to the argument that bringing toy guns to school makes the leap to bringing real ones that much shorter; it's as nonsensical as saying that junior is more likely to steal the family sedan if you let him play with Matchbox cars.

Of course, there is the paranoia explanation: the school shootings have made people so fearful that anything smacking of firearms is reflexively rejected. And I'm sure this is a factor -- but I'm also sure there's more to it. What is it?

Conditioning.

Many have posited the theory that the goal here is to raise generations amenable to strict gun control by instilling the young with negative attitudes toward firearms. And how better to do this than with swift and sure punishment for anything that evidences even the thought of a gun? Doodle a firearm, point your fingers like one -- anything at all -- and, bang!, you suffer for your wrong thinking. Think doubleplusgood thoughts, little boy, about flowers and kittens and rainbows and what gender you want to be. And should a child be a tad recalcitrant, nothing creates negative associations with firearms like a two-hour, pants-wetting interrogation at the age of five.

Schools are generally supposed to teach children how they will be expected to act in society when they are grown. So, what are these zero-tolerance policies actually teaching them? Gun are inherently evil - unless the government issues one to you. Then they are righteous and good. Progressives want the next generation to feel sick to their stomachs at the very sight of a firearm; a Pavlovian response so ingrained it can not be ignored.

Our children are being psychologically programed every day, Guns are bad...Guns are bad...Guns are always bad...Only the State can be trusted with guns...

Yes, they are being "clockwork oranged" during their formative years. It's the western counterpart to Palee Gazans, teaching their kids to kill jews.

It isn't working with all kids. My grandson, who isn't quite yet 8 years old, is a darn good shot, and appreciates firearms and firearm safety.

These same twits will be wishing we had a group of adults in 20 years or so that isn’t afraid to handle a gun to become a police officer when a criminal who CAN handle one is in their home.

Liberals don’t make decisions based on mental logic, only FEELINGS.

Yet you give a kid in his pre-teen years a .22, and he becomes a fan for life.

They want to imprint a fear of guns in kids across the board for the purpose of FEAR. They don’t want them to have them and they want them to think that those who do have them, aside from the police and military, are evil and deserve to be imprisoned.

They call it ‘zero tolerance’ to make us think they are stupid. In reality, they are not stupid. All this bull$h!t is to criminalize the thought of a gun.

You siad:
Our children are being psychologically programed every day...

That is the important take-away that should not be missed.

My first impression was the article should have been entitled: "The Schools' Sinister War on Children". If not "children", then "America".

Disarming America is precisely the goal. Proceeding in the earliest days of government controlled education and conditioning is simply a long term method of achieving that goal. As in a "long war".

What other explanation can there be for the near-hysterical, irrational behavior of school officials?

Does anyone else remember high school rifle teams? With real firearms not air rifles?

I can remember taking a shotgun on the school bus, storing it in my school locker, and hunting after school on school property!

It was a rural school and they owned about 80 acres behind the school.

This is when its time to use a commie pig, Clownward and Privvet tactic and turn it on the numbskulls in the ed system.

OVERWHELM THE SYSTEM.

Organize a tweetmob and at a certain time in the day, do a flash COPS N ROBBERS where all the kids run through the school pointing their fingers and blasting the beejeezus out each other.

Then let them do their stupid lock down and arrest a couple hundred kids.

Just be sure the cops don’t “frisk” the robbers, cause that will open another whole different can of worms.

Commie pigs only respect commie pig bully tactics.

All this stupidity about “guns” is nothing more than a constant brainwashing of a future generation to abore guns.

Requiring a family to change a deaf childs name since one of the letters in his name spelled out in sign language is the shape of a “gun” (finger pointing outward) is INSANITY at its finest. This stupidity has to be stopped.

I have been rather shocked by the seeming *absence* of gun rights organizations lobbying state legislatures to end these zero tolerance inanities in the schools.

States could create “common sense in the schools” laws, that direct principals to decide each and every disciplinary case on its merits, instead of lumping them together in a bizarre ZT policy. Require them to submit to their school district a brief, say 5 paragraph, memo with each discipline case.

The districts would consolidate these, and provide them to the state board of education.

1st paragraph: Name and grade of student(s) and faculty, staff, parents, and others who are involved.
2nd paragraph: Description of incident(s).
3rd paragraph: Description of estimated “real harm” of the incident, and what kind of harm(s) it could have or did result in.
4th paragraph: Description of discipline assigned, based on personal judgment.
5th paragraph: Additional comments and notes, including potential legal repercussions.

Parenting is more important then ever, so you can undo the communist indoctrination schools perform on your kids.

Of course there are millions and millions of absentee parents who assume schools are no different then they were when they went through them. So a lot of kids are receiving communist indoctrination not being corrected by parents — from fearing guns, to embracing gay marriage and islam, to surrendering all their rights to the State.

But the question is, are the rest of us going to be sheeple as well? If not, there are things we can and should do to counter the schools' war on guns and tradition. First, parents should organize, pick up their children from an offending school with toy guns in hand, and play a visible shoot-'em-up game on school grounds. I'm serious. It's called desensitization. Moreover, it tells the children in the strongest way possible that there is nothing wrong with toy-gun play. And if the schools are trying to condition your kids the wrong way, why not condition them the right way?

Then there is the stick. The reason insanity keeps occurring at schools and elsewhere is that leftists are never held accountable. But here we must take a leaf out of their book. When someone transgresses against their politically correct code -- think Jimmy "the Greek" Snyder, Don Imus, or James Watson here -- an apology won't suffice.

The left wants the person destroyed. So follow suit. Don't be like a certain popular cable-news host who is wont to say "I don't want to see the ____ (the tyrant du jour) lose his job." Make sure a school official who commits leftist abuse upon a child never works again. Go for the jugular, for the kill shot; give no quarter. Go Roman. It's only when thousands of the thought police's decaying corpses of careers are lining the Apian Way that those in darkness will see the light. The Culture War is just that -- a war. And if you want to turn it around, this must be your mindset -- every day, every way, every school, at every level.

Guns and Grade-School Panic

When, oh, when, are we going to start firing these idiots running these schools?

Ridicule is just the start. These politically correct nitwits need to be hounded from their jobs!

I liked the last part about the decaying corpses of careers. The consumers of schooling need to reassert control over the employees, instead of living in fear of them.

Ridicule them. We should mail cut out guns to the principal with a note - Don’t be scared, it’s just pretend.
