It may sound silly to those that haven't experienced the differences, but a dry 108 is still better than a humid 98. I drove from S. CA to Texas last August - the humid 98 degrees in San Antonio was excruciating compared to what I'm used to. And to make it worse - the humidity holds the heat in so there's no relief during the night, like there are in non-humid areas.

Even so, the humid 86 highs of Kentucky and Virginia were by far better than either other option - so that's where we are headed in a few years.

Well they could take the Safestore shutdown option which give them 60 years, but eventually the site has to be restored to a green site so the containment buildings will eventually come out. It's a real shame however that these units will be closed.
