You can't see that much from the highway.

You could try https://www.google.com/search?q=bluffdale+data+center&tbm=isch&tbs=isz:l. It's looking like new images are being added as I write.

True Christianity preaches the cross of Christ.

The second half of my comment was addressing the other poster regarding what that poster said about Mormons. You failed to address the rest of what I said about the fact that most of the people working at this facility will not be locals.

So what if "most of the people working at this facility will not be locals?"

It's a well-known fact that the CIA (among other governmental agencies) loves to recruit ex-Mormon missionaries because of the early language training they had in serving their mission in some other culture.

The same thing will apply here. Most such CIA agents are not Mormons; that doesn't mean, tho, that only 1.7% of them are Lds (Lds are 1.7% of U.S. population). Based upon hearsay, Lds are significantly more represented within the CIA (& some other governmental agencies) than would warrant their % slice of the population pie.

As for your "most" comment, it's a meaningless comment...because "most" can be 51%...or it can be 60%...or whatever...and if Lds -- including Mormons from other states -- wind up comprising 40%, or 33%, or even only 20-25% -- of this group...that's still a LOT of private accessible info that can be compromised if a certain Lds "prophet" in Salt Lake City tells such a worker that he needs "info" on a given person or two.

Y’all are like flies around a corpse

[Well, you got the "corpse" description right, anyway, spiritually speaking: "60 Jesus said to him, “Let the [spiritually] dead bury their own [physical] dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:60) Ephesians 2:1: "As for you -- [minus the cross], you were dead in your transgressions and sins..."]

Note: Brackets indicated interpreted content added by me above.

The liberals will have a hard time taking over Utah. The state is uber-conservative, and everyone has at least a handgun, rifle AND shotgun, plue food storage and survival skills.

Oh, give me a break, 'Face! You call the following "uber-conservative?"
* LDS Church Criticized for Endorsing Boy Scouts' Proposal on Accepting Gay Members
* Mormon church supports Salt Lake City's protections for gay rights
* Mormons Back Salt Lake City Gay Rights Laws
* Nearly 400 Mormons Participated in Salt Lake Pride

yea, NC, FL, VA, NM , CO all thought that too.

They can move in about 10,000 fed workers and that district is changed much like Clinton closing down bases in CO and now it’s a so called swing state but more to the left

Now that the shouting has died down, I'd like to get back to discussing the "batcave", because the fact that this exists is easily as compelling a story as the NSA vacuuming up phone records.

The following is not hyperbole. This data center is basically capable of holding everything. I don't use that word incorrectly. It's described size of 5 zettabytes is capable of holding several years worth of every single scrap of electronic data that the world produces.

The question is Why?

There are two paths of thought to answer this question. One is benevolent and the other is malevolent. Of course, the malevolent reason to store everything is "control". This will have already been discussed ad infinitum on FR's various threads. It is the other path of thought that gave me great pause over the weekend.

The benevolent reason to record everything is Backup.

The reasons to need a backup of every damned thing are pretty sobering. EMP. Asteroid strike. Cyberwar. Regional disruptions due to weather or other natural catastrophe. I would be very interested to know just how hardened this facility is, and just as curious to know your thoughts, FRiends.

Some interesting projections from Cisco

‘some recent technical advance has made it so that the total storage capacity inside this ONE SITE is more than the memory of rest of all of the outside world COMBINED.’

There should be enough bandwidth to be able to order our troops to stand down when we are under attack no matter where in the world they are stationed.
