But, AFAIK, there are no examples of political exploitation resulting from the NSA surveillance. That is Hayden's point and I think he is correct.

You miss the larger point, as did all the Beltway talking heads today. We have an administration that is expanding its survelliance powers after saying it would not. We have an administration that tries to label political opposition as terroristic in nature. We have an administration that shows blatant, open contempt for checks and balances. We have an administration that is willing to tell bald-faces lies to the American people, day after day.

Add them all up and there is just too much potential for abuse, even if none has been done to date. The groundwork has been laid for that abuse already. This stuff needs to stop, and now.

Praise God!
I would be pissed they had to open me up to find out I was fine.

FYI, Cholesterol is another bit of junk science to scare us. We need cholesterol just like we need salt which they just found you risk more by not having enough salt than too much. Leftists are leftists whether in science or politics.

It depends on how much you pay them to pick fruits and veggies. And it is just a plain lie that these lawbreakers are doing jobs Americans won't do. And as a matter of fact, the vast majority of the illegal aliens are not picking fruits and veggies.

In CA, the illegals are receiving state welfare benefits.

I agree that obam likely won’t be impeached. I can only hope that the ideological balance will tilt right because of all the abuse/scandals popping up.

I hope this sparks people’s libertarian (civil rights)ideals. Our civil liberties have been under assault under obam. Bush may have started it with the Patriot Act, but obam’s assault is over-thetop, frightening.

Now that the press might be offended by an overreach on civil liberties, maybe they’ll do a little more in reporting the news. Hope springs eternal.

Oh, as far as the gop-e knowing about the IRS/Tea Party scandal....not so sure. They obviously had an inkling, because constituents were complaining. They probably put very little effort in pushing any buttons because it wouldn’t hurt them (or so they thought).

We will see. I just know that the Dems are better organized and funded. And the changing demographics of this country will make it that much more difficult.

Don't ever underestimate the Obama machine, which will do anything to win, legal and illegal. Taking back the House in 2014 is his most important objective and the only impediment to transforming this country forever. Obama wants it so bad he can taste it. I shudder to think what he will do to achieve his objective.

All true.

..except for the part about hating.

I always taught that was to be avoided because it screwed up both your concentration and your aim.

(...don’t like to waste the ordnance and DEFINITELY dislike seeing the bird go into the dirt/water because of the break in concentration.)

Besides, got my flock of kids/grandkids to watch over (plus, of course, Grandma).

I’m still lookin’ at the flowers instead of the roots, The Oath is still in effect and if I’m the last damn one left standing, that’s just the way it’s going to have to be.

I hope Jesus takes this old sinner some day, but in the meantime...well, a Corpsman told me after one of my misadventures that I must just be too dumb to stay out of trouble and too mean and ugly to die.

First, great ! to hear. I would loosely call your minor blockage a heart attack, if that makes you feel better. I once heard that we all have a bunch of little "heart attacks."

One business associate whom I see annually had a sour disposition and frown a few Januarys back. He had suffered a pretty serious heart attack which made him incapable of a positive outlook. Just as you mention, he was treading lightly, afraid of pending doom. Afraid to do anything. He's still going, however, and the fears have subsided. I could sense how he was feeling and vowed I did not want to feel that way. Ever. Fear is a great motivator.

Anyway, you can't reclaim the lost time when you had the dread hanging over your head. Put it behind and forget it. A good lesson about unneeded worry. You should be smiling.

I guess one of my biggest worries is the potential for fraud. If we don’t get that under control we may never win another national election. I suspect it is widespread.
Also why would you want 20 million more illegals in the country if you hadn’t already figured out how they can vote illegally? Makes no sense,it’s all about voter fraud.

And there are stories of abuse percolating out:

NSA Whistleblower: Obama Took Down General Petraeus with Surveillance Program

Never knew the head of the CIA was a terrorist where this data should be used against him.

Officials: NSA mistakenly intercepted emails, phone calls of innocent Americans

Mistakenly. Yeah, sure. And it was only four low-level rogue staffers in Cincy behind the IRS Tea Party scandal.

Breaking: NSA Eavesdropped on People Whom They Had Personal Grudges (Audio)

“There are reported examples of the NSA, analysts at the NSA, using mechanisms they have access to. ABC reported several years ago through whistle blowers that they have used it to eavesdrop on people on whom they have personal grudges. There are isolated examples of the Patriot Act being abused. The problem is that the entire system operates behind a wall of extreme secrecy.”

If someone with a personal grudge can bypass safeguards Hayden claims are so airtight, how on earth can you prevent political use of this data?

Hint: You can't.

I wasn’t cut open in my chest; they went in through an artery in my leg with a camera on a wire. They can then use this to balloon out clogged heart arteries or even put wire stents in. As it turned out, I didn’t need that done, which is what he was going to do. Anyway, I was zonked out so never felt a thing.

LOVE the green organic no stick skillet, use it ALL THE TIME! But flipping omelets? Not so much. Give me time, God says I am still a work in progress.

Flipping the omelet is a circus act degree of acquired skill, scares me every time.

However:

My favorite is flipping an "egg-over-easy" for a breakfast sammich. When you start, put the egg on one side of the skillet and tip it just a bit to keep the egg next to the skillet side, and in a smaller "puddle".

Then when it has cooked up a little and solidified, give it a little swirl to make sure it is not sticking. It'll circle around the skillet.

Move over above your cutting board.

With the egg closest to you in the skillet, thrust the skillet away from you and then pull it quickly back as the egg hits the other side of the skillet and pops up and flips over.

Quickly move the skillet back away from you and under the egg to catch it. Put it back on the burner.

Probably the second time you do it, once you get the jist of it and tone down your flip, you can just do a gentle "flop-over" and not even break the yolk. I'll do two at a time with small eggs.

Lots of flipping and flopping, but don't flip out (Get the yolk?)

Durbin was up first. DNC Dave asked Durbin about the current scandals. Durbin refused to answer citing “Government Employee Executive Privilege” a newly signed executive order Obama issued today exempting any government employee past, present, or future from commenting on anything not favorable to the current administration.

this country will NOT impeach this country’s first elected black president.

Yeah, maybe somebody will do a little "black-on-black crime" job on him.

AB...my experience is that cardio types LOVE to tell you you had a heart attack.

They told me the same thing but they’re wrong.

What is a heart attack?

I define it as when the heart stops beating.

A heart attack is NOT what you get when the arteries leading into it are blocked with gunk. Well it will be a heart attack if your heart stops beating because of it. But heart pain from the organ struggling to pump blood around the blockage is NOT a heart attack, at least by me. Your mileage might vary.

My heart NEVER stopped beating but my cardio guy always looks at my record upon review and eventually will conjecture that I had a heart attack.

You probably didn’t have a heart attack is my guess.

But even if you did....your heart’s working fine now. Take care of it, which I know you will.

When I char up a steak outside, that skillet is also excellent for sauteing up a mess of chopped onion and mushrooms in butter. Same exact technique.

Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm.
