I fear that anything but a guilty verdict and long prison sentence will cause a rerun of the Rodney King riots. Since the liberals have convicted Zimmerman of murder, in the media, any other outcome in the actual court of law will be said to show how America is still racist and bigoted and how blacks can’t get justice in court, and all of that crapola which liberals spew.

So, an innocent man should be given a trial in a Show 'n Tell Kangaroo Kourt and found guilty beause that's how liberals have assessed the case!!???

Sorry, but if liberals want to go on Rodney King-style rampages because they don't like the verdict, that's the price of justice. We still believe that we are a nation of LAWS, NOT men!! So far, every piece of evidence released by the prosecution, supports Zimmerman's version of the case. In esence, the prosecution has an empty briefcase with NO supporting evidence to convict Zimmerman. But, you think he ought to just be convicted so there won't be any riots!!???

I don't understand your thought process.

Maybe I didn’t express things well. No of course I don’t think an innocent man should be given a show trial in a kangaroo court. I think that is what’s happening, and I was trying to say I disagree with that happening.

Of course I don’t want to see someone convicted just to avoid rioting. I was trying to say that I fear rioting could happen, not that I think Zimmerman should be found guilty so we avoid rioting.

I don’t know about Florida, but some places don’t require a unanimous verdict for all cases. And as we learned in the Edwin Edwards trial, the judge can dismiss a juror and replace him with an alternate if he won’t come around to the desired verdict.

The liberals have already tried and convicted Zimmerman in the media.
Yes, and NBC has been in the forefront with their airing of a maliciously edited version of the Zimmerman phone call. For their pains, they have been slapped with a lawsuit - one which by mutual agreement is held in abeyance until the criminal trial is over. Agreeing to wait until after the criminal trial may have been a tactical necessity for the Zimmerman legal team, but logically it need not have been done that way - Zimmerman obviously was libeled, and even in the (IMHO counterfactual) case in which Zimmerman is actually criminally liable in the shooting of Martin, Zimmerman should be awarded millions for that one libel alone. But that is hardly the only libel against Zimmerman by journalism, and journalism should pay Zimmerman for all of it - should pay Zimmerman enough to put him and his family on easy street for life. Since Zimmerman can never be safe on the streets in America again, he will have to be an exile - certainly from Florida, and probably from the entire USA.

But even that might only be the tip of the iceberg, for if riots do ensue following the verdict (whether it’s an acquittal or not) Journalism should be sued for every dime of the damages. People assume that “journalism” can’t be sued, but the Associated Press and its membership sure can be named, and sued.

People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. It is impossible indeed to prevent such meetings, by any law which either could be executed, or would be consistent with liberty and justice. But though the law cannot hinder people of the same trade from sometimes assembling together, it ought to do nothing to facilitate such assemblies; much less to render them necessary. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (Book I, Ch 10)
The newswires in general, and the AP in particular, constitute a virtual meeting of all the major journalism outlets, and the AP has been in continuous operation for over a century and a half. That marathon conversation stopped being anything other than “a conspiracy against the public” before any one of us was born.

I hope I’m wrong but that could happen.

I think is a certainty that riots will happen, unless there is a guilty verdict, but there might be riots, no matter what the verdict is.

A small group of protesters chanted slogans demanding justice for Trayvon Martin outside the Seminole County Courthouse this afternoon, just as the George Zimmerman trial is set to start this week.

The protesters, which numbered about eight, wore hoodies on Sunday and plan to return Monday for another protest in what some groups have organized as “National Hoodie Day.” The group includes members of the Revolutionary Communist Party and the “Stop Mass Incarceration Network.”

“We came out to bring a delegation to show that people down here who are facing this aren’t fighting this alone,” said Noche Diaz, a 24-year-old protester from New York City. “People are taking this fight around the country to connect the struggles of Trayvon Martin with the struggles of injustice against the whole system of mass incarceration of black and Latino youth.”

Diaz continued: “Zimmerman should be convicted. If he walks free, that sends a message to any racist vigilante out there that if they want to kill a young person of color, that it’s free and the legal system will have their backs.”

The protesters appeared for about an hour and chanted, “Trayvon did not have to die. We all know the reason why. The whole system is guilty.”

My hope is that there are no riots but, in case they come, I am prepared to defend. It could be very ugly.

“I don’t know about Florida, but some places don’t require a unanimous verdict for all cases. “

I never practiced in Florida. In any event, were that to happen, look for a motion for a mistrial. That’s based on the juror having some basis.

It’s easy to try someon in the media. It’s more difficult in a court of law. Just ask the OJ prosecution team.

I’d give my left *** to see some say that in the media.

You can type “eye” or “nut” on the internet. It’s ok. ;)
