You misunderstand the left. They want ideas and beliefs out of their bedrooms that they don’t like, not privacy. The goal is to shut out dissenting opinion. It’s the same with the argument that abortion is between a woman and her doctor - again, a way to shut out other opinion. The same goes for the leftist application of tolerance and diversity - they’re tolerant of opinions they agree with, and diversity never applies to different belief. Orwell pegged these guys perfectly.
