A little over 13,500 signatures to recall Sen. Angela Giron, D-Pueblo, were turned in Monday morning to the secretary of states office by local gun-rights advocates.
To put the ouster attempt on the ballot 11,500 of those signatures must be valid, which is 25 percent of the number of votes cast in the 2010 election that put Giron in office.
Victor Head, a plumber from Pueblo who is leading the campaign against the senator, said they were diligent to ensure all of the signatures were in Girons Senate District 3.
The state has three weeks to determine whether the signatures are from registered voters in the district, and if so, the governor will put a question on the ballot in coming months asking whether Giron should be recalled and if so, who should replace her. Candidates can get on the ballot by collecting signatures.
Giron is one of four Democrats targeted for recall this summer because of gun legislation they supported during the 2013 legislative session.
For me it was her not caring what constituents had to say, Head said, who came to the Capitol to protest gun control legislation. She listened and then she voted the exact opposite of what her district wanted her to do. Its frustrating to have a representative who doesnt actually represent you.
Of the other recall efforts, only Senate President John Morse, D-Colorado Springs, had signatures turned in. Those signatures are still being verified.
Giron is holding a noon press conference in Denver to discuss the recall effort.
I’m saving my lunch money to donate to a reputable source in CO to help rid them of these pests. Please post links if you have them.
Once the sig counts are validated and the recall elections starts with candidates in earnest, we shouldn’t have any problems finding where to send money to counter Bloomberg bucks and the rest of Dems. :-)
That's the difference between a representative and a delegate, Victor.
What’s the current balance of power in the CO Senate, Coloradans?
Recalls are something Democrats fear, once the constituents realize that they can do it and be successful it is only a matter of time before the dominoes effect starts happening. Recall efforts are something the liberal news media wants nobody to know about if it’s about recalling a liberal.
18 DU’er Sinators to 15 Rs.
Dems lose 2 Senate seats flips it over.
X-L-ent!!!!!
I found this organization last week: http://iamcreatedequal.com/
They appear to have raised $55,000 to recall Morse.

Colorado used to be a nice place to live years ago. The last time I lived there (40 years ago) the most popular bumper sticker was DON’T CALIFORNICATE COLORADO!
Well, It has been.
Northern Colorado. I've thought about running against him, but I don't have skeletons in a closet, I have them in a storage unit.
If you give me a bill number that he voted on pertaining to the 2nd amendment, I can do a bit of research on him.
Thanks. It’d help the cause.
Thank you. Researching now.
YEP!
