WASHINGTON (AP) Six months after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, some of the victims families are heading to Capitol Hill to remind lawmakers they are painfully waiting for action, while some of the presidents allies are asking him to do more without any new prospects of legislation to toughen gun laws.
The lobbying visit Tuesday and Wednesday is one of several observances gun control proponents are planning for the half-year anniversary of the Dec. 14 massacre of 20 first graders and six staff in Newtown, Conn. The Sandy Hook families and other activists are keeping pressure on lawmakers to expand background purchases for firearm sales, despite Senate rejection of the measure in April and no indication votes have shifted.
Nicole Hockley, who lost 6-year-old Dylan at Sandy Hook, said their familys pain has only gotten worse as time goes by without the younger of their two sons at home. She says the fight for new laws, which theyve also taken to several states, has left them emotionally exhausted, but they wont give up no matter how long it takes.
It is very disappointing that six months have passed, and although we are making progress in individual states, we arent making progress on the federal level when it comes to background checks when an overwhelming number of Americans support it, she said in a telephone interview...

incrementalism, they’ll never stop. They will get it bit by bit over the years and the GOP will never roll anything back in the other direction.
I wonder if this latest ammo shortage is a scam for NSA to track all the ammo buyers?
Or how utterly ineffective the proposed laws would be if passed.
FUJB!! Ever heard of the second amendment? Idiot!
if there was ammo to purchase it would be much easier to track
Push, push, push, until the battle spills out of Congress and onto the streets. Politicians want too much, and I’m at my limit of giving to these pissy-pants narcissistic, social clubbers.
We have to understand this, and the people we elect have to understand this as well.
There is no “compromise” with these people - they want it all, and any compromise just establishes the next step to their total goal, from which they’ll negotiate the next “compromise”.
Just say NO.
Your right Joe, the fight is FAR from over!
A pretty consistent thread running through almost ALL of these scandals is that a little chaos is something the libs REALLY LIKE. The truth is they do NOT mind murders (in the case of gusn) etc, cuz it permits them to advance their agenda. THAT is why the ATF never goes after “real” criminals; the real criminals HELP them. And if there are none of those, then the libs will CREATE them.
“Never let a crisis go to waste” —the illusion of some impending crisis was also the premise for creating a total surveillance state.
“Guh guh guh gun control muh muh muh makes me happy!” Simple Joe

We need to GOAD the left into going whole hog to wake people up... I hate to say it but we need to use some spray mace on the slowly boiling frog to get it to jump out of the pot...
LOL! Thanks for the pics!
Only the enemies of America would conspire to so thwart its Constitution.
NSA monitors records of all credit card purchases, including via the Internet. They’re going after ammo as a back door to gun control; ammo control! I wish the ammo manufacturers would speak up and discuss output and who their contract customers are.
You tube has video of CCI making about 1.5 million 22 rounds a day. Winchester is doing something similar. This is not a supply shortage but a demand shortage. The manufactures just got caught up and the government created another shortage.
Now that there’s funny!
I agree with Joe.
Just bought a bitchin’ Ruger Gunsite Scout.
