I guess you are right. I was not sure if it was an American company. Flat tax would be much better for all concerned.
yep a flat, sales tax would get everyone, even the illegals and visitors. you decide how much tax you want to pay by deciding what to buy.
Love that so much which of course is the reason it will never happen.
Illegals fulfill a purpose. If you want to build communism in your country, but you don't have enough communists, what do you do? You import them, of course! That's the purpose of illegals. They are coddled, but only while they are useful. The government knows how to be harsh, and it has plenty of ammo to insist on its viewpoint.
A foreigner who doesn't work or live in the USA can be, and will be taxed just because the US government wants his money. No other excuse is needed; robbers never worry about such things. The primary purpose of the government, as it seems, is collecting taxes and fighting its enemies among the citizens, as the citizens are the most dangerous foe. AQ in Afghanistan? It's not even funny. AQ can't hurt the government. Only the people of the country can.
A draft will never happen in Canada. Prime Minister MacKenzie King tried it in WWII; was popular in all parts of Canada except Quebec, where it was hated because they considered it a (maudit) ‘English’ war.
As a political sop to the Quebeckers, MacKenzie King’s election slogan in 1942 was, “Conscription if neccessary, but not necessarily conscription.”; typical Liberal double speak! Those who were conscripted but refused to go overseas were known as the ‘Zombies’. They were reviled in most of Canada, since so many Canadians volunteered for service in Europe.
Yup. Happened to me when I worked in Canada.
What's more, my Canadian wife has to file a banking statement with the IRS showing a small savings account up there (5000 bucks) or the Canadian bank will be black listed from doing business down here.
And that same Canucklehead wife will lose most of her inheritance when I die (if first, that is) as she is not an American citizen (so we have trusts set up like crazy).
Other than that, no one has their claws on our financial testicles.

What a pain in the arse.
too logical therefore must fail
reason three - better hockey, eh?
We didn’t have these tax issues when the US government raised revenue solely from tariffs...only when the 16th Amendment was passed did this start to happen.
You have less government with tariffs than you do with free Trade and Income Taxes...and the more we do with the former always means more of the latter....
Hey, the EU works /s
Why do I suspect “Joe” has a US passport in addition to his Canadian passport or at the vary least has not renounced his US citizenship. That is all he needs to do.
Renounce and his problem is solved. If he has not renounced, then there must be some benefit for him.

Screw them all! When I lived overseas, I had to file tax returns for both countries. If these guys are US citizens living overseas, they have to do the same.
And what is this BS about green card holders that live overseas. If they are out of the country for more than 6 months, their green card is revoked, according to the immigration agreement for getting a green card in the first place.
I have asked a Canadian lawyer about this. American citizens born in the U.S.of at least one Canadian parent, may claim Canadian citizenship. This applies only to first generation childenl
He does have to renounce his Americn citizen ship. Born of Canadian parents, he can claim Canadian citizenship through his parents and have dual citizenship. So says a Canadian i8migration lawyer wit whom I spoke.
does NOT
Still that is the price of actually being a citizen so it is not as big a deal (unless he is very rich) as made out to be!

Their mother country (France) wasn’t fighting; why would they?
