This little item could give the IRS’ whole “targeting” conservatives scandal a brand-new twist.
Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) tweeted that he observed IRS agents training with AR-15s when he toured the Department of Homeland Security:

Like I said so many times....I don’t for a second think the GOP, the likes of McCain et al...knew nothing about how the Dems were manipulating the mortgages in the 90’s. I don’t believe they knew nothing about the abuse of Tea Party types by the IRS. I don’t believe they know nothing about the awful foreign policy that led to Benghazi. I don’t believe they know nothing about the purchase of all this ammunition by the DHS,
And if they knew nothing about it, I’ll throw out there, then they are totally incompetent.
Either way, at best we have no opposition party. At worst, the blue blood GOP is working WITH the Dems while trying to look ignorant of it all.

The IRS defends the training, in a statement that reads, in part:
As law enforcement officials, IRS Criminal Investigation Special Agents are equipped similarly to other federal, state and local law enforcement organizations. Special Agents receive training on the appropriate and safe use of assigned weapons.
In responding to the revelation about IRS agents training on AR-15s at a DHS facility, the agency included a link to its enforcement website (http://www.irs.gov/uac/Criminal-Investigation-%28CI%29-At-a-Glance). Okay, we checked out that link and found no obvious reference to the need for, or use of, high-powered “assault rifles”.
What makes you think they (politicians, R & D) WANT to stop it?

My daughter’s best friend is an IRS collection agent. While she is not armed, she is often accompanied by armed agents on her assignments. Treasury agents in the past were called T Men, think Elliot Ness, and they were armed . Additionally every LEO agency, fed, state, and local have developed SWAT type units. Even the Education Dept has had such a unit for some time.. Agencies don’t like calling on other agencies for help, even for SWAT type scenarios so they arm and give half ass training to their own and send them out.I really don’t think 25K IRS agents will be marching out with M 16s anytime soon.
Obama ordered his IRS to rig the election of 2012 for Obama and democrats/socialists in the Senate. Obama also used other gov agencies to rig the election. Why isn’t anyone shouting this form the rooftops? Come on Levin, coulter , Sarah Palin, Rush, DRudge etc. call Obama out on this and call for Obama’s resignation.
