OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) Washington state agencies are working to identify which areas of government may need to cease operations if the Legislature fails to pass a budget over the next 18 days.

Gov. Jay Inslee held a cabinet meeting Wednesday night to discuss plans for what would happen after June 30, when the current budget cycle comes to an end. Lawmakers are squabbling over to spend government dollars over the next two years and have made little progress toward a resolution in recent weeks.

Washington state....is about the only place in America where it’s fifty percent extreme far-left environmental types, and the other fifty percent is union light-left Democrats. So when they talk over appropriations...it’s generally that the bucket is limited and neither is getting enough to make themselves happy.

There is a state supreme court order to more fully fund schools. With that in mind, here is where talks stand -

Democrat House: +$700M for schools with all new taxes
Rep (controlled) Senate : +$1B for schools with tax cuts and loop hole closures.

Guess which plan the teacher’s union supports ?

Just like California, ALL of the "for the chilluns" school levies go to....the teacher's unions and their pensions.

The kids?

Uh, well we'll send them a post card from our Hawaiian second homes, but they have our best wishes.

C'mon, we DO care about the chilluns.

But if it comes down to a second jet-ski or pencils, well, you know that a happy principal is much more important than any silly "education".

But don't forget we care. Just like the campaign signs with the little apple on them.

That shows "caring" don't it?
