Because homosexual activity is sinful. We're all sinners so no particular sin is going to get you thrown out of a Catholic Church. But marching in a gay pride parade is an *endorsement*/denial of sinful activity in direct violation of the Catholic Catechism and that is a reason to excommunicate.
I would call it “scandal” by the traditional definition.
I think I’d take Paul’s words as informative, “...Remove the wicked man from among yourselves”. (1 Cor. 5:13).
Two nights ago on CNN, they had a Catholic Priest on, who stated that 10% of the population was "gay", therefore,expect that about the same number of Priests are too.
After that lie, he stated that the Catholic church was not against homosexuality - Yes, he said homosexuality, not homosexuals.
The whole time he was talking, my gaydar was pinging like crazy. He also said that homo priests were ok with the church, as long as they were celibate.
