Rubio: We need to legalize immigrants so they can pay for border security
Washington Examiner ^ | 6/13/13 | Byron York

Posted on 06/13/2013 8:16:55 PM PDT by Nachum

Why is it necessary to legalize the roughly 11 million currently-illegal immigrants in the U.S. before newly enhanced border security and internal enforcement measures are in place? Sen. Marco Rubio, the leading Republican on the Senate’s Gang of Eight, says part of the reason is that the federal government can’t afford to secure the border on its own and needs financial help from the immigrants themselves, in the form of fines paid when they are legalized.

Rubio made the statement during a radio interview after he voted against an amendment from Republican Sen. Charles Grassley that would have put off legalization until after the border is secure — a position supported by majorities of voters across the political spectrum. Host Andrea Tantaros asked Rubio why he opposed something that was important “to so many in the Republican party?”

Well, if the Obama’s would just stay home from Africa, we would have more than enough money to pay for border security. Really, the politicians are totally out of the loop. People in this country are totally sick of this phoney baloney politics.

[[We’re so hungry for a Conservative that we fall in love the first nice thing they say.]]

And that’s precisely what’s happening- peopel need to slow down, wait, and see the real condidates before leaping on the bandwagons and gettign burned like we have been-

So far I’m liking (I think) what I’m hearing coem from Ted Cruz- but who knows, that coudl change as well too

Rubio is delusional if he htink granting millions of ‘wards of the state’ (which is what a LOT of illegals are- livign off welfare, not working- collecting food stamps, SS and even disability (although they were perfectly healthy when they crossed miles and miles of deserts to cross over into our country)) atre goign to ‘pay for border control’ How? With AMERICAN’S Money to begin with? With food Stamps?

(Note- I am NOT suggesting all illegal imigrants are on welfare and won’t work, there are infact many good people, hard workign individuals who do truly just want a better life- and are willign to work and contribute to htis coutnry if given hte opportunity to do so- but stats shwo an alrmingly high number of illegals ARE on welfare, do collect food stamps, ARE abusign our systems, and the stats also show an alarmingly high number of VIOLENT CRIMINALS coem across the border every year- to the tune of 80,000 violent criminals every year- every one of these 80,000 will ahve to move to a neighborhood somewhere- and be a danger to that whole comunity- Is thsi the person Rubio thinsk is goign to give a crap abotu obeying our laws and paying for border security?

I hope that Rush Limbaugh gives this creep the bum’s rush tomorrow—just so I can get a good night’s sleep on Friday.

He’s been playing Rush like a fiddle.

Sounds like they are throwing crap at the wall in desperation to get
the RAT version of *cough* Amnesty passed.

We'll know what's in it after, and what legal tricks they threw in.

Rubio is not going to let it go, is he. He has made a fool of himself by taking so many stances. So, now he is in this tangle. I guess he will have this image of at least he really really cares about the people of the shadows. He loves the attention. He could be another John McCain in the making.

Is he really this nuts or does he want us to think he's nuts?

I originally just thought he's merely another phony, lying politician, pretending we didn't remember when he uttered the words, that he'd never, ever vote for any bill that didn't put border security first!

Now, with this, he's worse than a phony lying politician, he's pathological!

RE :”Rubio: We need to legalize immigrants so they can pay for border security,”

With this level of dishonesty (to us ) in the GOP it makes me wonder what wabbits they will pull out of a hat to get our support.

Word has it that Issa got himself in a trap on the IRS scandal.
But expect more smoke screen rants to cover up their deceitfulness on amnesty.

Back in the 1970’s I would accept the mainstream media’s characterization of someone as a “conservative” and then get burned when they said or did something different.

Now we’ve got talk show hosts saying guys like Rubio and Ryan are “conservative” and I get a laugh out of it because I’m not being fooled anymore.

The mask is off and all the tough speeches and YES votes on phony symbolic bills or NO votes on bad bills that end up getting passed anyway mean nothing to me.

Over 90 percent of the Republican elected officials are phonies with no principles.

Those 70 or so folks who are challenging Boehner on amnesty for illegal immigrants are just putting on a smoke blowing show to make it look good for us folks back home and help win their primaries next year.

I will not vote for my GOP Congressman in the primary or general election next year because he is a phony who supported Boehner for Speaker in the first place.

"Man, he’s all over the place on this, isn’t he?"

I would like to ask Rubio: "Are all your illegal brothers as stupid as you are? Is that why you want them here? You know, pajaros of a feather and all that."

... so they can pay for border security.

LOL

What a crock!

But, it isn’t much different than the ‘jobs Americans won’t do’ canard from the previous administration.

These guys will use anything, except the truth, to try to sell amnesty (or whatever they are calling it this go-round).

We’re so hungry for a Conservative that we fall in love the first nice thing they say.

That's exactly what we all need to do.  It's a shame this doesn't occur to everyone.
And that’s precisely what’s happening- peopel need to slow down, wait, and see the real condidates before leaping on the bandwagons and gettign burned like we have been-

Same here.  I keep a low profile on it, because I am also concerned that he's go south.  I hope and pray that he doesn't.
So far I’m liking (I think) what I’m hearing coem from Ted Cruz- but who knows, that coudl change as well too

Sadly, I agree.

I agree with this.  There are hard working folks too.  None the less, they DO NOT belong here.  We can't have an enclave of 30,000,000 people here who are citizens of other nations.  That's about 75% of the population of California, the most populace state in the nation.  Spread these people around and they can impact negatively the elections in half or more of the states in our nation.  We can't simply look at them and go limp.  We have to face the problem, and them going home is the only right thing to do.  We cannot bastardize our laws to accomodate the invading hoards.  And that is what is on the table right now.
